Would like to see some love for Sophia Loren's Paramount films. There's House Boat, Heller in Pink Tights, A Breath of Scandal, It Started in Naples - all beautifully shot in Technicolor and they could really use fresh transfers. Her co-stars in these are all wonderful as well. Also some other good ones with her in B&W.

Now that Kino has a deal with Paramount, perhaps it will consider the rare 1956 film noir THE SCARLET HOUR? That film will be released in Australia by Imprint/Via Vision, but maybe Kino might get it for the US? The film has a wonderful cast, including Carol Ohmart (her debut), Elaine Stritch (her theatrical debut), and other folks such as Billy "FATHER KNOWS BEST" Gray, E. G. Marshall, James Gregory, Edward Binns, and Jacques Aubuchon.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the UHD's is The Marathon Man.

The Vulture
The Penthouse
Inadmissible Evidence
The Strange Affair
The Long Day's Dying
Where's Jack?
The Lawyer
The Deserter AKA The Devil's Backbone
(if still with Paramount)
A Gunfight
Unman, Wittering and Zigo
Fear is the Key
The Man
Ash Wednesday
Three Tough Guys
Terror in the Wax Museum
Arnold
W
Mean Dog Blues
(if with Paramount)
The Shadow of Chikara (if still with Paramount)
If it's The Vulture I shall run naked and screaming through the streets in joy.

There are still 2 80s Cannon titles left to reveal. 1 was previously released on DVD, and should come from this pool:

Mata Hari
King Lear (almost certainly with Criterion)
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Crack House

The other is new to disc, and is one of the following:

Thunder Alley (1985)
Duet for One
Hanna's War
I always thought Journey to the Center of the Earth [1959] was Fox.

With Paramout licensing out a ton of titles, I wonder if Paramount is going to slow down with their own releases. I wouldn't be surprised if Arrow has a deal and Criterion probably picked up more titles. Will be interesting to see Paramounts output now. I hope they release The Shootist since they were unwilling to license it out for whatever reason.

Olive acquired it, but dropped it due to film element issues. It has always been available. I'm not sure why you would take the word of a guy on IMDB Board?

You're not wrong, comparing The Tenant to Chinatown, would be like comparing Sugarland Express to Jaws.

Or like comparing The Chooper to The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies.

I always assumed it was the Ray Charles music, which I believe was replaced on the VHS release. Hopefully whatever rights issue has precluded a release of this film on disc can be overcome and we'll see it finally released on Blu-ray from Kino.
