In which case, I recommend Warner Archives' McQ, which has the Duke battling corrupt cops in the mean streets of pre-Amazon Seattle.

Brannigan is a bit more unique with its London setting, whereas McQ is clearly trying to mimic Dirty Harry and Bullitt albeit with a Seattle setting.

The toughest part of the movie is watching Wayne trying to squeeze in and out of that Trans Am. A lead foot girl I knew bought one and naturally she totaled it.

Any chance we could get 4K releases of The Sicilian Clan (preferably with both cuts in 4K) and The Long Goodbye in the near future? Or did these not sell well enough?

I had just broken down and ordered several of the expensive sub-par Imprint releases listed below just a few days before Kino announced their big Paramount deal. So you can all thank me for possible Kino US releases (cheaper and better) of: The Gambler, The Naked Jungle, The Day of the Locust, The Gift, and The Possession of Joel Delaney. Maybe another one, too.... Argh!

I had a few others I was going to buy, but held off on those, phew, that's a big enough wallet massacre as it is. And if Kino did acquire any of those above, I will rebuy their versions regardless.

The way I've usually heard it reasoned by my Australian lawyer mates is that they're down under, and everything is upside down, and therefore backwards. So, region locking here means region free there. This also explains why certain swear words here are terms of endearment there.

The Sicilian Clan is a Disney title now, so it's never going to happen. Not in the US at least. Maybe in France, if ever.

Get the French edition from Fox. It's region free, English friendly, and has intelligible subtitles unlike the typo-riddled Kino. There's also a steelbook.

One of them is being released by Imprint, but when we acquired it, we had no idea it was coming out.
This would have to be Strange Love of Martha Ivers, then, no?

If the Blu-Ray.com DB is correct, you have to go back to August 2021 before you find any other 1940s films from Imprint, with the Republic titles in the Silver Screams collection, announced in April 2021, so "was coming out" wouldn't make sense unless this deal has taken a full year from initial title selection to signing.

I guess both of these are with Sony and we don't have any new deals with them.

European, Asian and Australian companies usually break the rules that are forced upon the US labels.

Are their releases limited editions? Many of the Twilight Time discs were region free, it would be hard to flood other territory's markets, if you're only printing a couple of thousand copies.

The Sicilian Clan is a pretty good seller, we only release titles on 4K that are big sellers. Also, the rights are with Disney/Fox, so I doubt we could've done it even if we want to.

The Long Goodbye is a great seller, we would've released it on UHD, if the camera negative was in better shape. The potential restoration cost would be too high.

What a bummer, no need for another bluray for Strange love of Martha Ivers, Film chest released it in the US already, unless you are getting a super clean master, it's no use.
I was hoping for Sorry Wrong Number with all the Aussie Extras and a better master

Only the slipcases are limited.
