I’ll ditto what everyone else has been saying about Lonelyhearts. Great film that for unknown reasons has been mostly forgotten despite having a killer cast and a taut, acidic script based on a Nathanael West novella. This has been one of my most wanted (top ten at least) and I am very excited. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Kino!!

Great to hear The Hot Spot has been a big seller. It's a great film that never quite got its due. It feels like a classic noir... just in color and with lots of sex and nudity Don Johnson has never been better. Sure, it's a bit male-gazey, but it has such good atmosphere, both visually and storytelling-wise.

I said they were not big enough, STUDIOCANAL has released them (or will) on 4K for those who are interested.

Yeah, I picked this one up - the wife and I both liked it. Unsettling lead performance and well-handled themes around sociopathy boost it above your average fare.

Speaking of StudioCanal, is there any interest at KL in another deal? I discovered so many amazing British classics from the 40's and 50's when KL released them pursuant to the license from StudioCanal. (As an aside, I'm excited for the new Paramount deal and can't wait to see titles start dropping and pre-orders to go up.) Thanks!

And maybe, just maybe, you're also misjudging the cult status of the Beach Party films? I verily believe that a double-feature of at least Beach Party and Bikini Beach with you playing up the presence of the likes of Don Rickles, Stevie Wonder, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Dorothy Malone, Dick Dale & the Deltones and Timothy Carey might do decent enough business to justify its existence.

And that's the problem. Anyone who has seen Team America then starts watching an old Thunderbirds movie or TV episode is probably going to start laughing at it. They're fun but there's also a sort of 1960s gee-whiz mentality to them that won't play as well with more modern audiences, particularly American ones.

We're not. Like some other genres, they're better suited for DVD releases.
