I've long considered I Want to Live (I thought this went OOP a while back?) and Eureka, but I bid farewell to TT quite a while ago. I understand that SAE is trying to liquidate stock, but those prices aren't terribly appealing and the exorbitant shipping rates are deal-killers.

Still mildly interested in the above titles, but I may just have to catch up with them on another label.

It's really time the parenthetical was removed from the thread title.

There are a couple of TT titles I'm interested in getting, but one of them I was going to hold out on (was told elsewhere here (after I suggested it in Wish Lists, wanting to see a Blu-ray release in another country with expanded-on extras (interviews) that there are two different endings for Chilly Scenes of Winter).

CHILLY SCENES OF WINTER was first released theatrically under the title HEAD OVER HEELS. This version had a happy ending, while the later release of CHILLY SCENES OF WINTER had a sad ending. The difference between the two versions was the deletion of one scene.

I had a girlfriend who went to the film twice. The first time, she didn't like the HEAD OVER HEELS ending because she had just broken up with somebody and didn't want a happy ending.

When she attended the CHILLY SCENES OF WINTER reissue, she was in the mood for a happy ending and was unpleasantly surprised by the sad ending.

For what it's worth I highly recommend Morituri with Marlon Brando and Yul Brynner. Being a 20th Century Fox title it probably won't be seeing another blu ray release too.

Spent the last year selling off some Twilight Time blu-rays as UK labels and others have started releasing them. Looked into the wisdom about this move given that TT were famed for their robust, maxed out bitrate transfers; my experience is that of all the alternative releases listed below only Moby Dick, The Quiller Memorandum and Wild At Heart are significantly inferior to the TT versions, which I retained, and one, Mississippi Burning, is significantly better.

I'd be interested to hear thoughts on any of the releases listed below.

A Month In The Country (BFI, UK)
Absolute Beginners (Second Sight, UK)
Anne Of The Thousand Days (Final Cut, UK)
Antony and Cleopatra (4Digital Media, UK)
As Good As It Gets (TriStar Pictures, Denmark)
Bananas (Arrow, UK)
Birdman of Alcatraz (Eureka, UK)
Body Double (Indicator, UK)
Born Free (Eureka, UK)
Carla's Song (Indicator, UK)
Christine (Indicator, UK)
Exodus (Arthaus, Germany)
Fatherland (Indicator, UK)
Guess Who's Coming To Dinner (Indicator, UK)
Inherit the Wind (Eureka, UK)
Let's Make Love (Signal One, UK)
Lilies of the Field (Kino Lorber, US)
Mississippi Burning (Kino Lorber, US)
Moby Dick (Studiocanal, UK)
Rollerball (Arrow, UK)
Romeo is Bleeding (BFI, UK)
Shadows and Fog (Arrow, UK)
Stanley and Iris (vocomo, Germany)
Stardust Memories (Arrow, UK)
State Of Grace (Second Sight, UK)
Suddenly, Last Summer (Indicator, UK)
The Big Heat (Indicator, UK)
The Birth Of A Nation (BFI, UK)
The Boston Strangler (Signal One, UK)
The Bounty (Kino Lorber, US)
The Chase (Indicator, UK)
The Fortune (Indicator, UK)
The Last Detail (Indicator, UK)
The Night of the Generals (Eureka, UK)
The Purple Rose of Cairo (Arrow, UK)
The Quiller Memorandum (Network, UK)
The Train (Arrow, UK)
The Way We Were (Sony, Germany)
To Sir, With Love (Indicator, UK)
Wild At Heart (Universal Pictures, UK)
You'll Never Get Rich (Mill Creek, US)

I would also suggest that anyone interested in the film, check out the original novel, "Chilly Scenes of Winter" by Anne Beattie. The novel is a great read, and well worth checking out. The author makes a brief cameo appearance in the film as the waitress in the coffee shop scene with Charles and Laura during one of their spats.

I’m surprised that The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie is no longer available. I was able to get Our Man In Havana for a good price.

Only a quartet this time around. I thought Holiday in Spain was a TT title, but, oh well.... I've been meaning to pick this title up for a while now (Cinerama ).

This may not be the best place to post this, but I've looked back through the "final" sale thread when TT was going OOB. I am trying to get the final cost of some of the items that I ordered, and I know they were doing 10 for $115 for a period of time, but I have a discount on my order, and it doesn't quite line up with that discount as it is slightly more. Any recollections would be appreciated, and feel free to PM me so as not to clutter up this thread.

Do your emails show the discount on your order? Here's an email from the last day of the site from my email:

Quote:
In honor of our final day use coupon code FINI to save $10 off an order of $110 or more worth of Twilight Time Titles. This coupon may be stacked with the following automatic promotions:

Automatic Discounts for Bulk Orders: For all orders with over $100 in Twilight Time product (not counting shipping) there will be an automatic 10% discount applied. All orders over $200 will have an automatic 15% discount and all orders over $500 will have an automatic 20% discount applied.
It probably depends on when you ordered. Here is the discount, in addition to the 10 for $115, on 19 May:

Quote:
Bulk Purchase Discount: All orders with over $500 of Twilight Time titles will receive an automatic 10% discount (does not apply to shipping, ClassicFlix and Flicker Alley titles).

Do we know anything about Sandpiper? It looks like most (all?) of their catalog are former TT titles. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?studioid=4815

We know very little about them. Some speculation that they could be run by Olive Films, or at the very least a worker that used to work at Olive (which is what I lean towards). Others have theorized they might be another off-shoot of Screen Archives Entertainment. They are releasing some stuff that TT never released like Salsa, American Pimp, and The Cutting Edge 3.

By the way it looks like Don't Bother to Knock and Romeo Is Bleeding are now out of print.

Anyone know how the Mill Creek Rita Hayworth Ultimate Collection measures up (or doesn't) to the TT Miss Sadie Thompson (OOP) and You'll Never Get Rich (still available)? What about Pal Joey (OOP from TT vs. available from Sony vs. Mill Creek)?

TT's Miss Sadie Thompson includes 3-D. Mill Creek's doesn't.
