Again, our bad.

12 Angry Men is coming, but it'll be weird to include the year for the original and not the remake.

Correction, I think we're fine, since it's on 4K.

Also friends with Margaret Thatcher - as if his heinousness knew no bounds.

There is a 2-part Documentary feature airing on Netflix titled: Jimmy Savile a British Horror Story. That might be it.

My sub to Netflix recently expired and now I want to see it.... damn.

I always liked the tagline for the film

If camp is failed seriousness, then The Mysterious Dr. Fu Manchu is failed camp. Not only does the seriousness fail, so does almost everything else: the truly dismal acting, the braindead script, the oppressively pedestrian camerawork, the amateurish editing, the appalling sound design and wildly inconsistent recording quality (even by 1929 standards), the story and stage tricks which play like Saturday Night Live parody at best and elementary school Shakespeare at worst. Please don’t think I mean any harm - these add to one’s enjoyment of the film. I had a ****ing blast. The Mysterious Dr. Fu Manchu has to be seen to be believed. It is laugh-out-loud funny and I’m happy to add Kino’s edition of this terrible, trashy embarrassment of an entertainment to my collection. It’s like they made this movie in 1929 for bad-movie lovers in the 21st century. Because there’s no way they didn’t know how bad this sucked…right?

Fascinating to see the different viewpoints, with all reviewers seeming to enjoy the films at some level, despite their varied perspectives and expectations. Another to add to my wish list

Right! And that's a good thing, reading people's comments, besides reading a review of a journalist that was paid to write, and got a free blu-ray.

Since I was not around when these films were playing in theaters, I will get this disc and I won't totally consider it a blind buy, thanks to other people's comments in this thread.

Coming August 23rd on 4KUHD!

Paths of Glory (1957)
• Brand New Dolby Vision HDR Master – From 4K Scan of the Original Camera Negative
• NEW Audio Commentary by Novelist and Critic Tim Lucas
• Theatrical Trailer
• Reversible Art
• Limited Edition O-Card Slipcase
• Optional English Subtitles

B&W 88 Minutes 1.66:1 Not Rated
No motion picture has more effectively dramatized the absurdity of war than Paths of Glory from legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick (Dr. Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket). Safe in a picturesque chateau behind WWI front lines, the French General Staff passes down a direct order to Colonel Dax (Kirk Douglas, Lonely Are the Brave): take the Ant Hill at any cost. A blatant suicide mission, the attack is doomed to failure. Covering up their fatal blunder, the generals order the arrest of three innocent soldiers, charging them with cowardice and mutiny. Dax, a lawyer in civilian life, rises to the men’s defense but soon realizes that, unless he can prove that the generals were to blame, nothing less than a miracle will save his clients from the firing squad. Stunningly shot by cinematographer Georg Krause (Man on a Tightrope) and also starring Ralph Meeker (Kiss Me Deadly), Adolphe Menjou (The Front Page), George Macready (Gilda), Wayne Morris (Kid Galahad), Richard Anderson (Seven Days in May), Joe Turkel (The Shining) and Timothy Carey (The Killing), Paths of Glory is a blistering antiwar masterpiece.

Have you seen the Christopher Lee Fu Manchu films? They're a lot of fun, especially the first three.

Kino Insider - Following up from DukeTogo's question yesterday, now that you have detailed all of August's releases, is it too early for a preliminary September schedule? Thanks.
