I disagree. Goldblum had me rolling.

The film has its problems, but I didn't find that to be among them. About as satisfying a way to catch up with these characters since their last appearances as I could have hoped for in this context (as in, what the franchise has evolved into stylistically and tonally). That's just me though.

Will be interesting to know how you feel about this one, considering you enjoyed the first two thirds of this trilogy.

For me personally, I fall somewhere in the middle and can't agree with the hyperbole on either side ("worst Jurassic sequel by far and one of the worst movies of all time" vs. "best sequel and a great non-stop thrill ride"). But something being either the best or worst thing ever tends to be how it is these days, and with a lot of people you get the impression they make their minds up before even seeing the film (they sound the same before entering the theater as they do leaving it).

Dominion was.... Quite boring, sadly.

Honestly this kind of mindset is so freaking cringeworthy. Like, it reminds me of how I used to talk in my mid-teens before I had grown out of my “Angry Nerd phase”.

The first JW left a bad taste in my mouth, but I thought Fallen Kingdom was actually pretty good.

The Jurassic World trilogy has a lot in common with the Star Wars sequel trilogy. The first entry wallows in nostalgia and reheated story beats, the second (in both cases helmed by a much more interesting director) tries to shake things up and do something unexpected, then the director of the first comes back and tries to stuff as much "stuff" into the third as possible and makes a complete mess.

That said, I actually didn't hate Dominion. If nothing else, it's not as aggressively insulting as Rise of Skywalker.

Everything reads angry in text I guess, but do you see my signature? I’m over anger, these days I stay in a state of bemused disgust when it comes to my fellow man.

You wanna talk cringeworthy, Bryce Dallas Howard’s role/performance in LW alone was that. Not since Sharon Stone in Solomons Mines has there been such a useless damsel in distress to scream at everything and to be rescued by the 80’s action guy knock off. Her role alone should have had feminists up in arms.

I’m sure I’ll get around to seeing the next two movies, but lots of other movies and games in line ahead of em.

With critics maybe but not audiences. The audience rating is actually pretty high.

IMHO the film would have been better had it had more Pete Postlethwaite.
"Lost World" baffles me that it's reputation is so dismal. To me it still clearly is a Spielberg film that is suspenseful and entertaining all the way through, with great effects. To me it's much better than what's come after it. If the original is a 10/10, Lost World is easily a 7.5/10.

One thing that bothers me with the newest movie is that there are no suspenseful scenes with the dinosaurs, no build-up, no real tension. There's no reverence or fear with the creatures anymore. But there's a lot of Jason Bourne/Fast and Furious-esque chases with them.

The grass scene with the raptors still freaks me out. I was also a kid, so that might have added to it.

TLW is the second-best Jurassic movie, imo, even if it's far from greatness.

I've liked all the movies. Dont know what people are complaining about. Though ive had criticisms of many of them, they are all still enjoyable.
