Well, got an e-mail there's a delay on this and had to approve to keep the order (which I did).

Just wrapped this up and it is oh so good. The movie just gets better with age. No doubt the colors are amped up on this disc but I thought it looked fantastic. The contrast between the warm Miami scenes and the cool Detroit section is striking and effective. Grain, texture, and detail are all very lovely. Out of Sight might have my all-time favorite soundtrack and luckily the stereo mix is great. I was not a fan of the 5.1 mix. Sounded thin to me and the songs in particlair lacked punch.

Now this a movie I’ve always loved from afar and watched when I had the opportunity but I never owned so I don’t know the history of how it has looked and sounded, but I’m really happy about this release.

I think so, when I called Amazon today, they said they didn’t have Killers Kiss in stock and didn’t have an delivery date for it. I preordered the thing back in April. I canceled it and ended up ordering it from Best Buy’s website. I will receive it this Friday.

This happens all the time with Amazon and KL. KL adamantly says it's Amazon's fault when it gets mentioned in the KL thread.

I prefer Amazon's lenient return/replacement policy if something arrives damaged or is defective, so I'm willing to wait. Amazon usually gets the discs in a week or so, it never takes as long as the month-or-more-out maximum delivery date we're asked to approve when they don't have the discs on hand on release day.

Good luck finding out. Seems weird to have this problem if you pre-ordered back in April, but according to the customer service team, it's to be expected. I'm going to stick with it to see if it's one of those days, rather than weeks delay, but who knows.

LD era? LOL. Clearly not intended for LD use. Even for a DVD era master, it lacked the trademarks of those early on. This was a really solid HD master from that period.

What is your idea of super-expensive ?

I don't think you'll get for much cheaper - UK buyers will always have to add international delivery + VAT

Amazon was a bit cheaper but a) they are useless and b) no longer in stock

If Zavvi UK stock it, it won't be cheaper for sure.

I've seen some copies on ebay for £36 - lol.

I picked up for £27 from WOWHD - which is fairly reasonable i suppose given it's from US.

As far as I know no one got their copy from Amazon yet because kino has not sent them stock but of course Amazon has been taking pre orders on this up to release day knowing full well they didn’t have stock. Seems both of them are to blame for this.

Is there a difference in the bluray copy (NOT 4K) from the release from 2011?

I'm not necessarily interested in the 4k copy and the bluray special features seem to be the same too.

Weird how when I switch back and forth between DV Bright and DV Dark on my TV, there's zero difference with this disc. Both modes appear exactly the same.

Pretty much all Kino DV discs play funky on my TV. Getting those weird brightness fluctuations again (yes I've updated my Panny lol - I have to put these discs in my old X700 for them to play properly). But this is ONLY a problem with Kino DV UHDs.

It has the same green tint that everyone hates in The Matrix. The rabbit in Out Of Sight is the dead giveaway that the color is pushed too far. A white rabbit shouldn’t be green.
