So that title will be a 4K. If I'm remembering correctly all previously released titles will be 4K titles. Either way, this new Paramount deal has already been a smashing success in terms of the quality of titles and we only know a fraction of the titles. Only 3 new to Blu-ray titles out of 43! Going to be a long time period of being hopeful for certain titles, but really hoping for some Kirk Douglas films.

KLI, what are the chances of another Paramount deal in 2023, if this one goes well?

I think the Insider meant previously released on Blu-ray elsewhere. There are no 4K 80s titles left to announce.

Doh. I thought you had asked about Paramount and not MGM.

Amazon has quite a wait on the made-for-TV insect movies. My order is showing July 26th.

Had planned to switch the order over to Barnes & Noble as soon as the Criterion sale started to get the free shipping, but the second the Criterion prices dropped all the Kino prices shot back up.

I wish they would, but obviously Paramount has never thought much of this film, just the IP, since the Blu-ray was released (region locked) along with a new DVD back in 2009 for its 40th anniversary, only in the UK.

tell me about it--- I originally had them all pre-ordered from Bullmoose and when I saw Amazon's much lower price I cancelled them all and re-ordered with the exception of ANTS.

Well... I got ANTS from Bullmoose 2 days ago and my Amazon titles are still saying estimated with no delivery date

I cancelled again and ordered the remaining titles from KINO directly for ultimately less than 2 bucks more--

I've learned my lesson-- I'll stick with companies I can count on for titles I'm excited about getting and don't want to wait...

I could see it being released on 4K UHD in the UK. It's an iconic film over there, on the same level as The Great Escape as a quintessential "bank holiday" film.

The other two from the same wave- Seven Days To Noon, and It Always Rains On Sunday.

I had high expectations for both (more so than for Man Between, actually), but each had some particular element that rubbed me the wrong way, despite being otherwise good/interesting films. I watched both last year, and they dampened my enthusiasm enough that it took me another year to watch this one.
YMMV, of course.

It's amusing to me in retrospect, that all three boil down to chase/pursuit plots to a varying degree.

After posting, I read Svet's review here of TMB and the element that weakened it for him was the same element that distinguished it for me out of all three- the romantic angle. It's not front and center, but rather sneaks in through the side door, which made me like it all the more.

Another aspect that I dug was the post-war Berlin, in winter, setting.

In any case, it's in the sale this month and well worth taking a chance on.
If it had a big "C" on the cover, people would be dropping twice as much and raving about it, I'm sure.

No joke there! I ordered Last of the Dogmen from Amazon when it was 12.49 or something close to that, and 2 other Kino titles. Got the 2 other Kino titles no problem, but LotD kept getting pushed back and I was excited to get it, so I finally just got it direct from Kino (along with other on-sale titles) during their latest sale. When I cancelled Dogmen, Amazon's latest "estimate" for it was August 7th!

Just got done watching HOMEBODIES that I got from the sale...I highly recommend this gem of a movie. A great thriller about a group of old people who are being forced out of their apartment building and they start to "cause" accidents at the construction site to stall the demolition of their home. Really a great movie that I wish more would check out. So order it on the sale..it is pretty cheap too.

You had already convinced me to add The Man Between to my cart with your initial recommendation. I was just curious about the other two. Thanks for the heads up ... I'm sure I'll enjoy TMB based on the cast, the setting, and your good opinion. Much obliged!

Yes, indeed, Starchild! I'm going to surprise Chico with the Western Classics sets and Harpo with the Carole Lombard sets. But as of right now, my two kitty cats have other priorities --
