I used the coupon online for 4 more pre orders.

Men Blu Ray
Elvis Blu Ray
The Black Phone Blu Ray
Minions: The Rise of Gru Blu Ray

After the 20% off and an additional 5% off from my red card. I saves $24. For a total of $80.51. So basically almost got 1 for free.

Then now in store I am picking up Infinite on bd. It's on sak

Got an email yesterday that I had to approve the delayed Top Gun 4k release date for my pre-order (not that there is an official release date yet, but I digress). I approved it and got a confirmation that it was approved. Woke up this morning and got ANOTHER email that I had to approve the delayed Top Gun 4k release date. I have now accepted it again and got another confirmation email of my approval. I am wondering if anyone else got the email twice and if I can expect to have to approve it every day until they finally announce an actual release date.

It worked on multiple items in-store today. I was able to do a return/rebuy on 3 clearance titles I bought last Saturday, before the Target Circle offer. It took 20% off of each, however Luca rang up $29.99 on the re-buy. Thankfully she adjusted it back to $8.99 for me (before the 20% off).

I'd recommend chatting online to get the corrected discount.

They turned my missing $2.09 into a $3.00 gift card (I paid with cash)

Found the Turning Red Steelbook at target ($8 and change after tax & target circle) - complete with the Best Buy exclusive tab cover up with a sticker - of course I had to grab it at that price.

Also I’m assuming Target is just clearancing out their exclusives to make room since I think they’re exclusive releases (not only blu-ray, but vinyl releases) are overproduced. I don’t think they’re going to do away completely with physical media.

That is just weird...why would Traget take a return on a Best Buy item? Lol

Can't comment on the video, but I went to my Target today for the first time in a while, and the entire physical media section was EMPTY! No shelves, nothing. Just a ton of blank flooring. It was crazy. Wish I had taken a pic.

There were other random endcaps and displays with movies throughout the store, as there always have been, but very little.

I got Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent for $7.49, and the Dirty Dancing Steelbook for $5.09 (both were Blu-ray)

I thought it was really strange seeing these prices, but I had to jump on these deals before it was too late. My store has a very limited stock of movies now.

I mean, this isn't really news. Target and other retailers have been slimming their B&M media sections for quite sone time. I can't imagine most folks on these boards didn't already know this was happening. Frankly, if you're a physical media guy/gal, you stopped buying all or most of your movies and games at stores some time ago.

That all said, I don't really miss it. I barely buy any 4k/blurays or video games at stores anymore. I can probably count those on one hand over the last 3 or so years.

I think the guy in the video is too doom and gloom. The online selection at Target.com is deep and far superior to anything Target B&Ms ever had.

I suppose a small part of me misses getting the item in my hand to watch that night, but even that "loss" isn't that big a deal.

As long as we can continue to get the films and games we enjoy on physical media, I'm good. Sure, are sales fading? Are fewer publishers botheeing to put new/old films and shows out? Yes and yes. But we've still got them for now, and they'll be around for quite some time thanks to the Kinos and the Shouts. And so long as the retailers keep selling them online, we still have them.

Let's just keep supporting them until the party ends.

To save people a click, this is eight minutes of a talking head's "Target clearanced a bunch of exclusives, yadda yadda yadda heat death of the universe incoming" argument.

It was said either in this thread or the Clearance one, retailers have an overstock of product so their only solutions are:

Sell at a clearance price to still get some profit.

Sell it to a discount outlet and lose a lot of profit but still get something.

Return or destroy and get nothing.

Target is choosing the clearance option since they will still get a profit.

I’ve seen stuff like this at Walmarts from time to time, but this was on another level.
Pathetic folks indeed, I was in a thrift store the other day and saw a guy taking photos of the digital copies with his phone.
I should have asked him in high volume "Whatcha doin?"
But you never know what his response would be in these crazy times.
I hope they all were redeemed beforehand.
Regarding Target, you do not want to get caught stealing there, they don't play around.

They can also donate them and get full value in a tax write off. I know for sure Target used to do this, not sure if they still do.

There is one Goodwill I sometimes go to that has things from Target. The employee said all white tag items are from Target. I got a few Blu-rays and video games this way.
