Just took the survey. For a while it reminded me a lot of Warner's surveys.

Unless there have been developments I haven't heard about, unfortunately no good elements exist for "Child of Glass." It's one step away from being a lost film---the negative is gone and they couldn't even find any decent elements to put on DVD, much less blu-ray.

I'm still just hoping for the new Chip N Dale movie to finally hit blu-ray. 3D movies, too. Maybe one day.

Yeah, @#$% that noise.

Take this with a grain of salt, but Third Man on the Mountain has a spiffy new master on Disney+, and I wonder if that might mean an Exclusive, or just Disney cleaning up their older films for D+. Sword in the Stone, Cauldron have 4K masters, but the odds on Disney Movie Club offering 4K physical exclusive releases seems like a pipe dream.

I like to imagine Lucasfilm adding the Mandalorian logo and Din Djarin himself to the cover.

They also mention:
-Giving you a code or something each month to use to redeem for a movie, instead of them choosing one and shipping it to you.
-Perks when attending Disney movies in theaters (like free popcorn, IMAX upgrades, etc.)
-Discounts at Disney parks

If the film was released in theaters outside the US like a lot of Wonderful World of Disney TV movies ultimately were, there might still be a print or pre-print element. Bottom line: Disney didn't think that a TV movie from 1978 was worth the time and money it would take to bring it up to modern technical standards. They never minded using old video masters before so why would they treat this differently?

Is this even on Disney+?

And I can't believe I'd ever choose Gus over current-day Disney, but here we are. I actually met Ed Asner once and mentioned this film; it seemed like he wanted to forget it. I will say one thing in its defense: it has the advantage of actually being made by someone who played pro football.

Last email I've received from DMC has been trying to get me to go paperless. No survey.

Though I've been trying to get my Turning Red scratch issue straightened out, contacted home video support like I did before with a Once Upon A Time disc and after some back and forth they sent a new set out. But since they didn't send me an individual disc, they sent the full set so the stacked issue still caused scratches. They finally told me they'll just send a check once I send back my set and somebody would test the disc to see what was wrong and I think I may have finally made some kind of headway with reporting how bad stacked discs are.

[Show spoiler]Hello Kevin,

Thank you for your emails.

Regretfully, we are unable to send out a loose disc. Movie sets are manufactured and delivered to us as finished product.

If you'd like a refund, we'd be happy to send a return mail label. Our technicians will test the disc and research your concern. And we'll share your experience with the rest of our team.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reply to this email or visit us at https://www.DisneyStudiosHelp.com/.

Sincerely,

Trisha

[Show spoiler]I understand, I'll take the refund if that's all that's possible. Thank you.

It's not really a technical concern though, the concern is the way the discs are packaged is causing damage. No disc should be put on top of the other because the simple natural spinning just from normal handling of the case can cause scratches. Three discs should mean three disc trays, not two trays with one of them holding two discs pressed against each other... the issue is made worse because the Blu-ray sets have three trays yet the 4K sets only have 2, and the most important disc (the 4K disc) is put on top of another when it should be the one with it's own tray at the very least. Scratches are weird. It may work now and not later or vice versa, or the smallest scratch will cause problems and larger ones won't. The one I returned to the store originally had a few tiny scratches and it caused it to freeze and glitch and jump ahead a few seconds. Damaged discs have become more common from every studio the past 3 years but when they're stacked on top of each other, it happens even more often.

[Show spoiler]Hello Kevin,

Thank you for your email regarding Turning Red. We apprieacte your feedback regarding the packaging of our movies.

We are sending a postage paid label via mail label so you may return the sets in exchange for a refund check.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reply to this email or visit us at https://www.DisneyStudiosHelp.com/.

Thank you,

Trisha

Sure, nothing will probably happen because of it... but at least they acknowledged the feedback, something nobody else seems to do.

I would love to see blu ray releases for more animated shows such as Darkwing Duck, Ducktales(both versions), Gargoyles, Gummi Bears, Kim Possible, Tailspin, W.i.t.c.h., etc.

More animated stuff from Fox would be nice such as Eek The Cat, The Tick, Titan A. E., etc..

People have been complaining the studios for several years on stacked discs and I fear they are not going anywhere. Like most large corporate entities they pinch not only pennies, but tenths of pennies.

It sounded like they want to charge $25 a month to be a member of the club, but it includes a Disney+ subscription, plus a free physical movie every month.

But I don't use Disney+ and I probably buy less than 5 Disney titles per year so I'm not digging that idea.

Sure, nothing will probably happen because of it... but at least they acknowledged the feedback, something nobody else seems to do.
So, I wasn't the only one who had problems with Turning Red's 4K release?
The first copy I got from the club had case damage, and scratches on the 4K and extras BD.
I contacted the club about it, and they sent me a free replacment, while letting me keep the first copy.
The 2nd copy's case and slipcover were mint, but the 4K and feature-film BD had scratches. (At least I now have 2-BDs that should work)

I suppose I could've tried my luck one more time, but I just didn't feel like it.
First off, I don't have a 4K setup yet, so I'm mostly buying 4K editions for slipcovers, future proofing, or if they're on sale. 2nd, I suspect it wouldn't have done much good anyway. Should I risk Mickey's wrath, so I can get another 4K disc that will be scratched-up in the same way?

I will be much more selective about which edition of a movie, particularly with more than 2-discs, I buy from them from now on. Hope the pennies you save with stack-cases are worth it, Disney?!

Side note, I gave one of the 4K discs to my older brother, who has a PS5, and I told him he can keep it if it works. If the scratched BDs work, haven't gotten around to testing them yet, I'll give them to a family member as well.

If I joined the DMC, could I choose four exclusive Blu-ray/BD sets as my introductory titles?
