I'm still hoping for a Blu-ray / VHS combo.

I was at Fry's just the other day looking at a 400 disc changer thinking "if only it supported Blu-Ray!"

Not for me, thanks. I always did like the simplicity of single disc players. Like someone said earlier, maybe for music it might make sense, but for movies I don't see the point.

I don't trust anything beyond a 5-tray changer with my discs, and honestly, I don't have a problem changing discs period.

One less thing to break

Thumbs up

I agree 1 BILLION %! & I think these nuts that want a changer that holds 200+ are insane! I don't need to nor want to have my entire collection in my player! & then I have to make a list
that'll need to be updated constantly of what DVD or CD is in what slot! Are you friggin'
kidding me?! No thanks!

I have a $ony 5 disc one from '03 that RULES! & unlike what some say, I've never had the probs
w/it that many say they have! & even after buytinga SINGLE disc BR player, I will still have to use my $ony 5 disc just for a CD player it seems, as many times I will set 2-3 CD's or more
to listen to continually, while I am relaxing or doing stuff, & it's inconvenient to have to keep changing the CD w/a single disc player. & for those ho think it's better to stream it from a PC, or some sort of fancy set-top player that streams it to your surround sound system.
I also say no thanks to that too! Streaming sucks, as just like watching streaming video or listening to streaming audio on a website, if there's some congestion, or whatnot, you will have some period of missing music & or movie while it corrects itself. Uh, yeah, no thanks! I'd rather listen/watch it in it's entirety & not have that or slow playing music or movies, -choppy playing due to whatever might cause such congestion.

& just like those who prefer to have their entire music collection in MP3 or some similiar format, I prefer actually having the disc put into the player, & hitting play! Call me archaic, but I don't care! So, I'd not want my movies ripped to my system in the "Digital Copy" format & streamed, or played otherwise to my TV either! I want it go directly from my player in the same room to my TV. I don't get why these companies only make a single disc, or a 200+ disc player! The 200+ ones cost alot more to make & buy then a 5 disc one does! I've also heard that the 200+ CD players have had way more probs w/them than the 5-6 disc CD players ever did! So, why would you soend that much on a BR player that could have the same issues?! My $ony 5 disc DVD player has had no probs in the 7+ years I've had it, & I have, & contnue to, use it constantly!

So,...to all companies that make BR DVD players, MAKE A 5-6 disc one, PLEASE!?!?!?!?! I got my 1st HDTV in March, & have yet to buy a BR player for this exact reason!

If I had a home theater system with a projector, I could imagine getting a 200 disc player. I would need sticky notes so I can slap one in each with which number it is in the selection.

The Sony 400 disc changer I have does a great job of keeping track of what is where :-)

Simplicity! Less moving parts, less chance of breaking. Never had a multi disc changer except in my car (I don't want to be distracted changing disc).

For music playback, I can see the desire for a multi-disc or megachanger (although single drawer players usually sound better). But for movies, I don't see the point. The simpler the player, the better. All the extra motors & components that go into changers only introduce "noise" into the playback, plus it's more to break down. I'd rather have the expense that was used for the changer's extra parts go towards better components.

I searched and searched for a multi-disc Blu player before I bought my PS3. I had a 5-disc DVD player for years and loved it.

For those of us that can watch a few movies in one sitting....and espically for anyone watching TV on Blu....it's great to not have to change discs.

My reason for purchase was twofold....first my launch PS3 sounds like a fighter jet that may not be in the sky much longer and second I sometimes put a movie in and may get 10 minutes or so into it and decide I want to watch something else, ALL of my movies being in the same unit makes switching to something else that much easier (read: I'm lazy )

I'm not sure I'd go with more than a 5 disc changer. 5 slots is plenty to load multi-disc movies (such as the Lord of the Rings extended editions).

I use 3 Sony 400 DVD players for my Collection of Movies. It saves a ton of space on movie storage & finding a movie is a breeze. When the Blu changer comes down in price somemore my Blu collection will be in a changer also.

So, your 400 disc BR player has a HUGE display screen that shows every single disc in every single slot, DVD title, & band & album title for CD?? Must be like 2 feet tall! & THAT takes up lss room than a 5 disc?

BREAKING DOWN? No clue what kinda crap you owned, but clearly it was! If you read my post, you'd see. OVER 7 years, & it's NEVER been to a repair shop! If that's not a good track record for those who think that changers suck so much, then what is?

There's ABSOLUTELY NO proof whatsoever of that! If you experienced this w/a multi-disc player, than it was SHIT to begin w/, or was a lemon! & there's NO defect i the sound or video playback either! Mine ONLY makes noise when changing from one disc to the next, & that's it! When they are playing, I only hear the noise of the music, dialogue, & sound effects & music in movies, & only music from my CD's! & once again, mine has never ever broken down! & the 200+ ones are far more likely to break down than a 5-7 disc changer will! & for those who feel that a 5-7 disc one takes up too much room, you think that a 200+ one takes up less than a 5-7 one? Yeah, smoke another one! Not that anyone here said that, but I read that on another forum.

& why should I have to keep my 5 disc DVD player hooked up w/a BR just to play more than one CD in a row? Or even to buy a separate 5 disc CD player?! But, alas, I will have no choice as more of my fave movies are hitting BR,...FINALLY! Like Star Wars-(next year), & Indiana Jones-(SOON...hopefully!?!?)-, & L.O.T.R. is also out on BR too! & soon enough ALL movies will ONLY be released to BR!
