In the past stores would reliably get some shipments before movies were the item of the week. This year shipments are inconsistent and some stores get little to no movies. I have found some stores will get multiples of the same assortments rather than 1 of each. You used to be able to hit up a handful of stores on the designated Friday and find most of what you wanted, but now it is just luck.

I believe these week 26 movies will be shipped to and trickle out at stores over the course of weeks, so it's not possible to catch them in a single Friday trip. Basically if you drive by a store, stop in and look, but it's not worth driving all over in hopes of finding a big score. Those days and whatever patterns used to exist seem to be gone.

Stopped by a DT this morning but saw nothing new. Out of everything that's been posted so far, Journey to the West is what I would've wanted the most, but I recently got that for cheap from Hamilton (along with the sequel). It would've been nice to save a few bucks, but who knows if it will even show up in my part of town, and it probably saves me the time of trying to track it down. Wouldn't mind upgrading my DVD of IT or finding Godzilla, but they're not really priorities. Nothing else seems that interesting (to me).

I will keep looking for movies at DT but I think some of the excitement for me has diminished this year. Hopefully, the shipments near and around Black Friday will have some good stuff.

My store says as they get the boxes in, they put them out. They don't wait for Item of the Week releases.
This sucks because the store is about 45 minutes away (one way)
There's no going every day just to check. The next closest store is about 1hr10min away.

I checked 3 more stores this morning.

The first store had them in, but hadn't put them out yet.

The second store got two new boxes and brought them out -- the first was another box of MGM titles. The second was the Viva/ITN titles that are printed for Dollar Tree (stuff like 100% Wolf, Monster Family, Monkey King: Hero is Back, Straight Outta Oakland, etc.).

The third store got 3 boxes. One of the MGM boxes, one of the Viva/ITN boxes, and a box of the newer stuff. The only blus were The Stray, The Case for Christ, Brian Banks, and one other repeat title. The DVDs were mostly Echo Bridge titles (Mount Adams, The Pharm, Runnin' From My Roots, etc.). There was also a Brett Favre DVD, and a couple of cheap looking horror movies from Vertical (I don't recall the titles).

I grabbed two DVDs:

Monster Family 2 (because my kid liked the first one)
Capone (Tom Hardy) -- This was the Canadian release w/ a slipcover
