Protecting Equipment

I'm getting close to finishing my basement and am now thinking of making a change to the design. I want to cut open a wall which seperates the furnace room and where my tv will be mounted so that I can recess my receiver, dvd, ps3 into it.

My question is since that will be a dusty area (unfinished furnace room), how would I do that and protect my equipment from the extra dust. I was thinking of enclosing everything but then I will obviously see some extra heat so if I did that, what would be good ventilation options?

You could enclose it and then put in an auxillary cooling fan.

This is the product I bought. The CabCool1202 is on sale for $64.94. I have the CabCool802. I didn't need the thermal control since I want my fans on all the time whenever I turn my receiver on. It is plug into my receivers switched outlet. They have many options. Pick the one that's right for you.

That sounds perfect but I'm wondering something looking at the pics. It looks like it mounts so that it's flush with the wood or whatever material. Which if that were the case the backside of the fan would be in the unfinished space, likely suctioning dust into the equipment. How would I actually mount the fan without causing that type of situation?

Actually when you mount the fan unit it's flush with the outside and the fans are 1 1/4 on the inside of the cabinet. You can have the fans blow air in or suck air out. It's up to you which way the fans blow when you put the kit together which is extremely easy. I and most will recommend that you have the fans suck the hot air out of you're enclosure. So you will be blowing air into you're unfinished room so no worry about sucking dust in. They are so quiet you cant here them run. You cut a hole in you're cabinet that is a little smaller so the fan unit screws right to you're enclosure.

After I posted I saw that you can set to blow air out rather than in. That would be the ideal situation so I will probably do that. Thanks for pointing that site out looks I will be getting a few items from there.
