When considering a purchase, I never take text-only reviews into serious consideration for any home video release. At the very least, I have to see screencaps for myself.

Weird, Kino list this on there site as a, "Brand New 2022 HDR/Dolby Vision Master – From a 4K Scan of the 35mm Original Camera Negative".

So there must be some kind of mess up going on.

Guess I'll wait for more reviews to come in before I buy it.

But Mr Harris said that tomorrow he´s going to do a review on the new 4k disc of "The Italian Job" and he said that the picture quality is on another level in comparison to "Death Wish" and "The Italian Job" is from 1969 while "Death Wish" is from 1974.

So I guess we have to accept that "Death Wish" won´t look good in 4k.

Mr. Harris is an absolute legend, but many of his opinions/reviews over the past couple years when it comes to 4K discs in particular have been… questionable. So yeah, I’ll need to see this for myself before making any judgments. Or at least uncompressed and properly converted screenshots.

Is there any possibility of getting more of Nancy Carroll's Paramount films, like Laughter, Honey, Follow Thru, Stolen Heaven, or The Dance of Life, among others? She is highly underrepresented on physical media and I'm dying to see some more of her films in HD, or anything better than YouTube rip.

Very disappointing if accurate. He's convinced its not from the OCN and is a 2k IP scan of an old master with only redeeming thing being the Dolby Vision.

Harris is all over the place with this - doesn't seem coherent at all. He's already posted at least one "revision" (maybe two now, I'm afraid to check) clarifying his assessment. He's also engaging in a weird back and forth with Robert Crawford - a site bigshot. It's the weirdest thing. I'm banking on this release not being as bad as they're making it out to be.

No. Every studio besides Disney (the cheap bastards) has released 4k titles with BD100 discs.

BD-100 discs are triple layered. BD-66 discs are double. They're pretty common, and Kino's The Good, The Bad and the Ugly uses a BD-100.
