I messaged MUBI about the subtitle issue on Decision to Leave and been messaging them over a few weeks about it. Well they're sending me a new copy. Apparently a new master is being processed.

"We've shared this with our team to see what is possible (a new master is currently being produced, thus the delay). Once we have any updates, or once it's been sent out we'll do our best to follow up. Wishing you a great weekend for now.

Per DVDCompare, Aftersun includes subtitles in English/HOH, German, Italian, Spanish and Turkish - I believe MUBI holds distribution rights in those territories, with English subtitles for the Q&A.

That's surprising. Normally there're only English subs on their discs.

They've done it before with Beanpole, but it does seem to be fairly unusual.

My Aftersun shipped from Amazon UK a few days ago. Let's hope it arrives to me a little quicker than my 101 Films order (3 weeks).

well their next few theatrical releases are The Five Devils (24th March), One Fine Morning (14th April), Return to Seoul (5th May), so probably those!

Still waiting for a few of theirs to show up though…was hoping for a Fayi Dayi disc at some point but doesn’t look like it’ll happen now.

Just got a copy of Decision to Leave, but quickly realised there’s apparently an issue with the subs? Is there a disc replacement programme?

I've not gotten it yet, since I was not too impressed with the film (it's fine, just not one of his best), and now I'm not sure whether to wait for a possible fixed release.

I believe it was that there is one line of dialogue where the subtitle is mistakenly placed out of frame. Which, while not something you’d want to happen and it’s nice they are repairing it, is not really something I am too concerned about personally.
