I can't help if I think your gain can be my gain too
Yup thats what i mean as dynamic, and while yes the viennas do that well in their own regard like i said before i just prefer a "brighter" speaker for HT. Its just a personal preference kinda thing.

I also really like paradigm center channels. While the Maestro Grand is great, it can at times be "chesty". That is pretty much the main complaint about it.

Do you have any of the speaker levels adjusted on the marantz? If so, what do you have the center at compared to the fronts?

So they are all set to 0? or was it adjusted with a SPL? I'm just curious because I know that Sumiko with the STAR training general lowers the center channel about 1 to 2db

i've got an appointment at Hi-Fi Fo-Fum this coming Tuesday of the Paradigm S8's. I've been struggling to find a dealer who actually has a demo pair and my Rep finally hooked me up lol.

I'm very intrigued by the Beryllium tweeter, i can't wait to here them. I'll let everyone know my thoughts soon.

Big Red: I must ask,why limit your self to just the above choices?? There are more brands out there that are neutral and "laid back"....

why do you say im limiting myself?

I've seen more than my fair share of brands, been to several GTG's and traveled across states to listen to various companies speakers. I also work at an audio shop and get numerous speakers in all the time.

I would not say im limiting myself, but more or less narrowing down to 2 different spectrums of performance in the audio that i like.

If i go Paradigm then i will be building a separate 2-channel system. If i decide to stick with VA then thats that. I like what i like man

I guess you already made up your mind. Personally, I'd go with the VAs.

We don't know what you've listened to, but I suppose we know what you've narrowed it down to. And that's cool. We like what we like!

I hope that for the 2-channel setup you'll be using the Viennas though? I think the Paradigms are stronger in the HT department, but for musicality the Viennas are the only choice....in my humble opinion.
