Oh well, this way at least I know what I WON'T be getting this Kino sale. Too many titles to choose from...

Thanks also for the Western recommendations in this thread. Some titles there them that weren't on my radar.
I recall the Insider said this would get reprinted, but without the booklet

A terrific front cover. The original 1974 artwork for this film was horrible. Kudos to KLSC.
I would take the OG 74 art over this DVD abomination:

Another Kino Lorber Western recommendation:

Lots of fun, and a huge influence on Spaghetti Westerns.

Monty Walsh is terrific! I might have to pick that one up myself.

Unfortunately, Missouri Breaks is OOP but can still be found used for around $30.
Thanks for the others, all unknown to me except Night Passage which I was hovering over.

There's a German disc of Missouri Breaks, luckily...

or the "modern" western

I'd also recommend

though they both a little more violent than the 50's and 60's pics.
Lonely are the Brave is excellent, the others I've hovered over but never picked them up, so thanks.

Thanks both - these definitely don't pass the wife test, but not everything I buy has to

Oh, wait...was the requirement specific to KL titles?
Yes, Ravenus, but that doesn't preclude me fromn adding Seraphim Falls to my wishlist. How does the 3:10 remake stack up? Big fan of The Proposition and Bone Tomahawk...

I will get that set, either this sale or later - I've never seen Duel at Silver Creek and the other two are excellent.

Another Lancaster Western, but even more for fans of Lane and Plummer.

It's also an outlaw story that might have more cross-gender appeal than most, if you're looking for something to watch with the wife.
I was thrilled when Kino rescued it from it's obscurity in the Uni-vaults.

Another excellent, more dramatic/character (as opposed to action) based piece of work is

Burt Lancaster is chalking up up quite a few entries here! Never heard of the first one, thank you. I think I might have to pare back my MovieZyng and Indicator baskets a bit at this rate!

This may be heresy, but I like it more than the older film (both based on an Elmore Leonard story). It has my favorite of Christian Bale performances, very understated, and Russell Crowe looks like he's having a good time. Terrific audio showcase too when the action heats up, if you have a good setup.

Seraphim Falls is an interesting one. Most of the film is a primal hunt for an escaped fugitive. Towards the end it goes into some surreal territory. Saying more would be spoiling it

I concur, for the most part. I treasure both versions of 3:10. Ideally, if you loved the original, you should love the remake. That doesn't occur too often. (And while it's not KL, another highly recommended Russell Crowe western is 1995's "The Quick and the Dead"...)

I agree, I don't even care much for Crowe or Bale except in very specific roles, but I thought they were both great in this and the film itself really stood out as a favorite for me, I watched it a second time the next day after I initially saw it.

I think the common opinion is that the modern one is better. I disliked both, but especially the modern version.

I'm thisclose to ordering the Imprint edition of Jacob's Ladder but something tells me it's one of the titles Kino picked up from Lionsgate. I still don't understand the reasoning behind keeping acquisitions under wraps. If I knew ahead of time what a schedule looked like I could plan ahead and throw more business their way. My preference is for supporting US labels up to a point.

"Jacob's Ladder" would have to be licensed via StudioCanal.

It can't be in the Lionsgate deal. They only had 1 title previously released on Blu-ray in the US, and it's already been announced (Bad Lieutenant).

A scorching love triangle ignites between the iconic Jane Fonda (Klute, Coming Home), sultry Lola Albright (Kid Galahad, Lord Love a Duck) and Alain Delon (The Sicilian Clan, Un Flic) in René Clément’s Joy House (Les Félins). Delon stars as Marc, a dashing young con man on the run from the mob. After seeking refuge in the Riviera villa of the widowed Barbara (Albright) and her curvaceous cousin, Melinda (Fonda), Marc becomes trapped in the passionate snares of both women, who are full of sinister surprises. A neglected masterpiece from director René Clément (Forbidden Games, Is Paris Burning?, Rider on the Rain, And Hope to Die), Joy House weaves a wicked web of hidden desires and all-too-human corruptions. Lalo Schifrin (Coogan’s Bluff) provides the eerie musical score; Henri Decaë (Le Samouraï) serves up the sumptuous cinematography. Joy House also known as The Love Cage features wonderful supporting performances by Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg of TV’s The Dukes of Hazzard) and George Gaynes (Commandant Lassard of the Police Academy film series).

How is it possible that in all this Kino western discussion, no one has mentioned one of the absolute best in the catalog?

Haven't seen it yet, though I have the Japanese blu-ray for a long time.
But René Clement is a legendary French director and the cast is great (Delon Fonda), so I guess it´s worth to purchase it.
