Nope, another of my wild guesses (same for Titane 4K as well). The film, and its sequel are OOP now, so I expected someone to pick it up, and since Criterion has picked up a few blaxploitation films, and also films from black filmmakers, I figured they might have gotten that one too. If Criterion doesn't have it, then perhaps Kino got it, and will release it. It would be a shame for the films to remain OOP.

My main horror Criterion upgrade would be Val Lewton's Cat People.

I'd be shocked if they didn't pick up Meteor Man. An auteur film if there ever was one.

Cool, and I agree on all points. I think they'd do well with it - especially if they add the sequel. Was just hoping you had seen something more.

It's obviously too soon for Jean Eustache, right now.

So, I wouldn't mind seeing Masahiro Shinoda's "Demon Pond" or "Under the Blossoming Cherry Trees" for October.

Criterion might could bring "The Evil Dead" into the Collection.

I'm waiting for Mike Nichols' "Carnal Knowledge", too.

Both "Cape Fears" would be fun.

Criterion has a nice image on their front page for After Hours, based on the same cover art from their BD/4K release (made by Sister Hyde). I figured it would make for a nice wallpaper, so I made it available here:

[Show spoiler]

The background image, and title were separate files on their site, so I had to combine them back, so the positioning may not be perfectly identical.

You can download the background image and title separately here:

Lol. This might be blasphemous to say as a classic film fan, but I've only seen the first half of Gone With the Wind. But I've seen so many famous parts and heard the famous lines, I feel like I've seen the whole thing.

I haven't seen many Vivien Leigh films except 1/2 of Gone with the Wind and A Streetcar Named Desire. I will have to keep an eye out for That Hamilton Woman.

Has this ever been mentioned as a possibility or are you just making a wishlist?

Just a wish item.

Lionsgate has been licensing to them, now. And Lionsgate let their BDs go OOP.

Just pondering, really, for October.

True, but not sure they'd consider it a delay to not announce on the 14th.

Janus Films picked up Demonlover a couple years back, so between that and their love for Assayas I've been expecting a Criterion release at any time. I love that film, so I'd be over the moon.

I would be absolutely thrilled if Criterion releases 1932's Freaks on Blu-ray or 4k UHD...but someone, either they or Warner Archive(?) needs to release this unique Tod Browning film.

I'm watching this right now on TCM, "The Candidate" (1972) needs a Criterion release. This is an amazing film and still as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.
