You're still going to be missing out on the extensive Arrow extras, including a fantastic shot-by-shot (and sound-by-sound!) split-screen comparison between the Italian and the AIP versions of Sabbath. Sunday also includes Bava's co-directorial debut, I, Vampiri (in SD) and a lengthy trailer reel, among other bonuses.

I just watched this Kino Blu-ray of the Italian version of Black Sabbath, and I loved it.
It's a beautiful-looking film, and everything seems to jump out of the screen on this disc. This is only my second experience seeing a Mario Bava film, after watching the Kino Blu-ray of Black Sunday last week, and it's my first time seeing a Bava film in color. The cinematography and use of color made me think of the Criterion title, Kwaidan. Michèle Mercier (Rosy in "The Telephone") is a strikingly beautiful actress, and I should probably check out some of her other movies soon. If anyone can steer me in the direction of her other cinematic highlights, then I'll be thankful. After reading all of the Bava threads here, I'm glad that I made the decision to go with the Italian versions of both Black Sunday and Black Sabbath (I'm restricted to Region A by choice, because I would quickly overspend if I had the equipment to watch Blu-rays from other regions.). After Black Sunday and Black Sabbath, I'll have to look for some more Bava films later on. |

Not horror at all, and very silly, but his Danger Diabolik is a real blast. I can't wait for Planet of the Vampires! |

I'm really intrigued by the premise of Bay of Blood, and I might buy it later on if I decide that I've got the guts to watch it. Haha. |

On Amazon, this is listed as "Black Sabbath: Standard Edition Remastered"
Did Kino fix their dark, green transfer of the Italian cut, or has this edition always been called "Remastered"? |

There's a French 4K of Black Sabbath out there from 2021 but it's not english-friendly and it's now OOP and very expensive. |

Having experience with Bava properties, the sad fact is that they don’t sell in the quantities you would expect. |
