I’ve seen quite a few posts about this, but no one has really answered it:

Does anyone thing Quick start will wear the player down faster or is bad on the player?

I used to use it briefly but I noticed my player was running a lot warmer than usual so I stopped .

I’ve had 2 of them do the exact same thing. Seems to happen every 3rd or 4th power on. It turns on…then gets stuck on “Welcome!” front display

Happens here. Lasts for maybe a few minutes.

It won’t. True cinemaphiles will keep physical media going. You can keep your crappy streams.

Has anybody had the remote control on the UB9000 suddenly stop working? And where is the best place to get a replacement if necessary?

I use the 9000 remote on my 820. I think this is the original one and this is where I bought it. It takes a while to get shipped but for me it was worth it having back lights and -10 second rewind.

Yup, got the download link from my seller today and now both players are working fine again. I'm glad, this was resolved so quickly.

A lot of glitches can be avoided by turning off any quick start features. A full power-cycle is good for the software, and its effect on hardware is negligible. This is why unplugging video hardware sometimes fixes things, especially in modern TVs that have no other way of shutting down fully under normal circumstances. Firmware update installing is an exception, the device must do a full reboot during that.

Just chiming in to say I updated my DP-UB9000 to FW 1.76.

Region modded EU machine, no problems updating via Wifi and no operating problems once updated.

I also updated my UB9000 EU hardware modded player from 1.69 -> 1.76 with no issues.

Models manufactured in 2023 have 1.70 pre-installed.
