MOCHA can be affected by poor stuff, and it's difficult to determine, even with traditional coax only service. And can be a bit sporadic.

The 6 estimate is on the 'long' side, while the 2 hr is closer to most common time frame.

I personally haven't heard of that sort of problem, but then again I don't really scour for them . The tech should be alot more able to help you out though, and at least the signal integrity.

One fun question though, you're not routing the coax through a UPS or anything like on your end right? That actually caused a problem for me with my traditional cable service dropping connectivity in high traffic.

Just an add on my comment with the surge stop, and the tech pretty much suggested that step which did fix it. I can imagine you still want to keep the coax under surge suppression though . Just something to test at least.

No, I am not running the coax line through any kind of surge filter. I guess the issue could be a number of things, I just hope that I dont need to re-wire my house with new cable. The install tech kept telling me how sensitive the signal is and if the cable is bent too much it will cause problems.

Who knows what the cable on the inside of my walls looks like?

The fibre optic cables can be troublesome if bent too much. That said, once the signal is on the coax, it's well on the coaxial, it's just twisted copper. And the tolerance there for bending the cables is far greater .

Anyway, let us know how it goes, .

coax is not twisted copper. that would be cat-5 witch cable does not run around the house for your t.v's. cable has a solid center conductor. think of coax like a garden hose, if you bend it to much or kink it or put staples through it or if it's really old the water/signal will not properly pass through it. contrary to popular belief coax with copper braiding is the worst crap you can get, avoid it by all means. the braiding is meant to SHEILD the center conductor and dielectric from o.t.a signals and copper does a very poor job of this, steal braid is ideal and the copper center conductor needs to be very sturdy, you should not be able to bend it easily.
