Oh, good grief. I'm not able to check this forum for 36 hours, and while I'm gone, all Heaven breaks loose! I'm in for everything that's been announced, and I'm especially excited about Piper Laurie's participation on the commentary for Has Anybody Seen My Gal? , a film I haven't yet seen and was hoping would come out on blu-ray. Great stuff heading our way from Kino! Much appreciated!

Coming out on Blu-ray January 23rd from Carlotta Films US and Kino Lorber!

Jeanne Moreau, Filmmaker: Lumiere, The Adolescent, Lillian Gish

2-Disc Set

Pre-order: https://kinolorber.com/product/jeann...t-lillian-gish

Jeanne Moreau was a famous French actress, active both on stage and on screen, naturally gifted for a rich range of artistic expressions (she also sang), who was –and still is– loved and admired all over the world. But few people know that the star of Jules and Jim and Elevator to the Gallows also wrote and directed three films between 1976 and 1983. Her two feature films, Lumiere and The Adolescent, along with the documentary Lillian Gish, newly restored thanks to the Fondation Jeanne Moreau, are available for the first time on Blu-ray!

LUMIERE (1976 – Color – 102 min – New 4K Restoration)
Four actress friends, Sarah, Laura, Julienne and Caroline, talk about their emotional and professional paths. Their strong bond is embodied in the central figure of Sarah, the oldest and most famous of them...

THE ADOLESCENT (1979 – Color – 94 min – New 4K Restoration)
July 14th, 1939. Marie has just turned 12 and, as she does every year, she is about to go on holiday to her paternal grandmother’s house in central France. She also meets the new country doctor and begins to experience a previously unknown feeling...

LILLIAN GISH (1983 – Color + Black and White – 59 min – New HD Restoration)
A tribute to Lillian Gish by Jeanne Moreau, where one actress pays homage to another. The American silent film star looks back on her career since her debut in 1913, and recalls the filming conditions when she was a child...

BONUS FEATURES:
*INTERVIEW WITH CLINT EASTWOOD (22 min)
*TRAILER OF "JEANNE MOREAU, FILMMAKER" RETROSPECTIVE (HD)
*POUR LE CINEMA : TOURNAGE DE "LUMIERE" (13 min) Director: Pierre Mignot - © 1975 INA
*PETITE HISTOIRE DE NOS STARS : JEANNE MOREAU (17 min) Director: Jérôme Laperrousaz - © 1978 INA
*CINE-REGARDS : IL Y A JEANNE (15 min) Director: Daniel Edinger - © 1978 INA
*SALLE DES FETES : CINEMA (5 min) Director: Frédéric Carey • Co-author: Gilbert Kahn - © 1979 INA

Will the French release be identical and also include English subtitles, or is that a question to ask Carlotta?

Imagine that's a question better aimed at Carlotta. I don't think any of their releases have had English subtitles.

SPLIT IMAGE (1982)
• Brand New HD Master – From a 2K Scan of the 35mm Interpositive!
• NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historian/Filmmaker Daniel Kremer
• Theatrical Trailer (Newly Mastered in 2K)
• Limited Edition O-Card Slipcase
• Optional English Subtitles

Color 111 Minutes 2.35:1 Rated R
Split Image is a spirit-stirring story revolving around an all-American college athlete, Danny Stetson (Michael O’Keefe, The Great Santini), who is innocently lured into Homeland, a youth-oriented cult, by a compellingly beautiful girl (Karen Allen, Raiders of the Lost Ark). Here he is programmed by the charismatic leader Neil Kirklander (Peter Fonda, Ulee’s Gold) to believe that his new life now has the true meaning that it previously lacked. Anguished by their son’s disappearance, the Stetsons hire a modern-day bounty hunter, Charles Pratt (James Woods, Cop), to abduct Danny and exorcise his brainwashed mind, deprogramming him to return him to his family and friends. A truly intense psychological drama directed by suspense master Ted Kotcheff (Billy Two Hats, North Dallas Forty, First Blood). Featuring Elizabeth Ashley (The Carpetbaggers) and Brian Dennehy (F/X) as Danny’s parents; music by Bill Conti (Rocky).

The Hell with Heroes is a nice title grab by Kino. Any mention yet as to when their next sale will be? I can't remember if it normally starts before black Friday or in December.

[Show spoiler] He said; Knowing full well that someday it will drop below $10 and he'll probably get it anyway!

I think Olive released some Bob Hope titles that I have not already purchased, so I hope KL will release those as well.
I wish I hadn't already picked up the Olive release but I will double dip on this one anyway because the others were all released by Kino (and the disc will probably have a higher bit-rate encode). I should have waited for the Olive license to expire to see if Kino would license it. Oh well! Still seems like a good idea to pick up the Kino edition.

Been finding numerous classic Blu-rays at 2nd & Charles lately. I've bought 8 in the past week And they still have some others I want but right now they're actually going thru the whole movie section organizing it by genre. Today finds were Of Human Bondage (1934) for $9.50 Blu-ray and Irma La Douce (1963) factory sealed for $7.75. I'll give them a couple weeks and then go back and maybe they'll be finished organizing them so I can look thoroughly. They have them sitting all over the place right now.

Inventory management and fulfillment is handled by Technicolor, so I'm going to assume the answer is no.

I would think the discs are packaged and shrink-wrapped at the pressing plant in Mexico, no?

THE DEVIL’S BRIGADE (1968)
• Audio Commentry by Filmmaker/Historian Steve Mitchell and Combat Films: American Realism Author Steven Jay Rubin
• Theatrical Trailer
• Limited Edition O-Card Slipcase
• Optional English Subtitles

Color 130 Minutes 2.35:1 Not Rated
They were misfits, rebels…and heroes! Screen greats William Holden (Stalag 17) and Cliff Robertson (633 Squadron) topline this riveting World War II saga based on the true story of the First Special Service Force. Capturing the drama of combat with outstanding cinematography, The Devil’s Brigade is a thrilling tribute to this renowned fighting unit. Lt. Col. Robert T. Frederick (Holden) takes on the daunting task of melding a renegade group of American and Canadian recruits into a crack team of commando warriors. Frederick’s superiors doubt the rookies until Frederick volunteers them for a perilous attack on a Nazi stronghold in the mountains. His men will be outnumbered and outgunned, but that’s a fair fight to The Devil’s Brigade. Action veteran Andrew V. McLaglen (The Wild Geese, ffolkes) helms this top-notch adventure yarn with a strong cast including Vince Edwards (The Victors), Richard Jaeckel (The Dirty Dozen), Carroll O’Connor (TV’s All in the Family), Dana Andrews (Laura), Michael Rennie (The Lost World), Richard Dawson (TV’s Hogan’s Heroes), Claude Akins (Tentacles) and Harry Carey Jr. (The Rare Breed).
