I've been sitting here drinking brewskis and catching up on my movie-watching, and I got to Predator 2 -- when I realized, hell, I never even owned this flick on DVD! I did, however, own a VHS copy back in the day... (9.99 from Blockbuster, I still remember) Which got me to wondering, what have other people purchased on Blu that they haven't had in their collection since the VHS or Laserdisc days?
And I mean I'd like to see a list of films you actually OWNED on these ancient formats before upgrading to Blu - not just a first-time purchase on Blu. Here's my personal list, and I actually surprised myself... (They're all VHS to Blu) -Blade Runner -Predator 2 (I actually paused this flick to start this thread) -Die Hard 2 -Die Hard with a Vengeance -The Getaway -Terminator 2 (crazy!) -Raging Bull. Maybe I should've filed this thread under "If you're over 30"... ![]() |

Currently none but there will be after a couple get released, like Jurassic Park. I've only ever owned it on Laserdisc (and the only laserdisc I ever owned). Somehow I never bought it on DVD. Everything else I owned on VHS I have bought on DVD before.

Jingle All the Way Men In Black Mission Impossible 2 The Nightmare Before Christmas Street Fighter WOW Way more than I ever realized! ![]() No wonder they all felt like nostalgic buys... Hard to think this is my first copy of T2 with all the thousands of editions that were released. |

That's too bad they couldn't transfer all the original extras -- maybe it was some kind of copyright issue? I heard something like that happened with their original Blade Runner LD |

Kudos to this thread for making me realize I'm essentially upgrading all my Criterion LDs to HD. And I'm still keeping them all, mostly for the special features (if any of you are selling your Criterion Repulsion LD, let me know
