Did TCM show it? I checked it out the last time they broadcast it in the hope that I’d be pleasantly surprised but it was still the b&w print.

I don’t remember it ever being mentioned to be honest. I don’t keep up on the podcasts (that’s why I’m always grateful for sancarolina59’s condensed versions) so I’m sure I could be mistaken on that.

This reminds me I don't have many Black and White films on Blu Ray. I obviously have the Freaks Tod Browning collection on Blu Ray from the Criterion collection along with a few Akira Kurosawa films on Blu Ray but other than that that's pretty much it.

I sure remember it that way and them showing it in color, but maybe it's the Mandela Effect?

I've definitely been there on all that.

The German Blu of MORE DEAD THAN ALIVE is very cheap, but of course you don't get the Clint Walker interview, which I enjoyed just as much as the movie. Mayb KINO will re-release it?

It's also a terrific little and unusual western when the genre was being experimented on quite a bit and has a fantastic part for Vinnie when he was at the top of his game. Highly recommended for Price fans and 60's western movie aficionados.

That's great news on the new disc transfer! I remember something of the new turntable was briefly mentioned by George when discussing the restoration of The Broadway Melody (the sound restoration source for that film was a set of pristine Vitaphone discs).

IIIRC, the holdup with the color version for The Mysterious Island when they released the DVD a few years ago was that they were unsure if they would be able to access the recently rediscovered elements, from an Italian archive I believe, for that version in time for that release, and the decision was made to release the existing older master on DVD instead of holding it up for likely years, since at that point I believe they were starting to wind down their DVD releases to focus on the Blu-rays. WAC hadn't started getting the funds yet to do as many major restorations like they have been, so I can see that as why the decision was made, but now that things are very different for WAC, hopefully they'll be able to do it. On a side note, I'm curious if they'll do the other films they rediscovered in Italy at the same time (Why Be Good? (1929), Synthetic Sin (1929), and Show Girl (1928)). The first two's restorations were completed, with the former being released on DVD only, and the latter being withheld since the Vitaphone synchronized score discs did not fully survive and WB didn't wish to pay for a new score. Show Girl was per George a few years back awaiting translation of the intertitles from Italian to English again.

Crap forgot to mention Dr. Strangelove I have that one too and Paths of Glory gosh Dang it two of my favorite Kubrick films of all time I think thats it though. And Breathless in 4k UHD, The 400 Blows, Saboteur, and Shadow of a Doubt, and To Kill a Mockingbird all on Blu ray. Although Shadow of a Doubt and Saboteur are on a Alfred Hitchcock collection of 4K UHD plus Blu Ray box.

Did they say why they needed to create a new turntable? At worst, they might need a different needle or perhaps a different speed motor...

The Mandela effect is not one person misremembering something (or, indeed, an actual thing that exists).

You are wrong again.

The Mandela effect occurs when a PERSON believes that their distorted memories are, in fact, accurate recollections. They can clearly remember events that happened differently or events that never occurred at all.

The Mandela effect does not involve lying or deception. Instead, it occurs when a PERSON or group has clear but false memories.

I thought I was alone in having a deep affection for Pharaohs (having first seen it on the BBC), for me it's more Jack Hawkins than Joan Collins with the bronzer. I was so happy when Scorsese singled it out for restoration, the man is doing God's work.
