One almighty plus for Joe is the visuals in the action sequences are easy to keep up with... No OTT camera jerking! (BAY!!! I'm looking at you right now )
Its his sig. (Yes Bay, it is.)

Well I never really watched G.I. Joe.

Hell I didn't even know the characters' names until they started talking about this movie getting made

I expect to enjoy it, I mean I enjoyed Transformers, Wolverine, and Terminator.

I also enjoyed The Mummy and thought The Mummy Returns was ok.

So I doubt I'll be walking out disappointed.

Just keep in mind that the film is somewhat cheesy like, but its entertaining. I think you might actually like this movie more than Wolverine, and mummy returns.

I don't understand anyone who is standing up for this movie. The acting was cheesy, the story sucked. The only good thing was the special effects.

My childhood was ruin when I watched the original G.I cartoon last night, right after the movie.
The movie was so much better.

They at least gave the Joe's a story. And a relationship between each other, past and present.
Going back to watch old stuff made me realize a good Joe movie is hard to pull off, giving that the original source material wasn't that great to begin with. (my opinion)

I gotta ask how can a movie ruin your childhood memories?

I was about the hugest He-Man mark on the planet, I had all the toys, books, etc when I was a child. Then I saw the Dolph Lundgren-vehicle they call Masters of the Universe. It was probably the worst I had ever seen, but it hardly ruined my memories or love for He-Man.

I just don't understand the people who claim that a film about something they cared about when they were 6 can ruin what they loved when they were 6 when they are older. It just doesn't make sense to me.

gi joe comics were better than the old tv show

also to the above poster i guess you could substitute ruined with tainted

Just got back from watching it and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It's a live action cartoon for crying out loud, that's all you should be hoping for, that's all you'll get.

The Snake-eyes / Stormshadow backstory is kept really close to what it was in the comics---granted some of the details have changed (back in the early 80's a LOT of the Joes were in Vietnam in one way or another...can't really use THAT now)...but the "meat" was still there.

I do think they should try to have C.C. use a hooded mask in any potential sequel.

The actor who played Dr. Mindbender was PERFECTLY cast!

So far you and I have enjoyed the same movies this summer (Transformers, Terminator, Fast and Furious). I just saw G.I. JOE.. Was it chessy? Yes. Was it really entertaining and well done despite the Cheese? Yes. Would i pay to see this again? Yes.

I really enjoyed the movie, more then i did Transformers actually. I did not really know the characters, but it was well done You'll enjoy it

I see a lot of different opinions on this thread regarding the movie. Just remember we have a productive discussion about it, as long as it stays respectful.

For the ones that didn't like it, what did you want or hoped to see in this G.I Joe that you haven't seen?
