Yeah, I honestly love this movie. It's certainly not good, like you said, but the film really leans into the camp factor and I've always loved it for that. Dare I say I actually enjoy it more than the second film (which is obviously better) but I had more fun with Jaws 3-D the last time I watched it.

But with that said, hell yes, this is a day one purchase (same with Jaws The Revenge - which is entirely garbage lol, but I gotta complete my Jaws collection on 4K and the 4th one REALLY needed a new scan).

Curious to see how this is gonna look because, yeah, shot on a potato, etc. etc.

I like the 3D in Jaws. Opening title sequence jumping out of the screen, with a fish head slowly methodically floating towards you. It's very pronounced and strong. Gimmicky yes. Some stuff doesn't work as well like
[Show spoiler]the shark breaking through the glass of the control room
, but I think that has more to do with the visual effects than the actual 3D itself. I haven't watched it nearly as much or recently as Friday the 13th Part 3, but they both have a softer look. My eyes go cross in some of the 3D shots in it as well.

I actually just watched the Blu-ray.

So many scenes were just completely out of focus. I remember one where the only thing in focus was the face of the person third closest to the camera.

Not for me, but glad you enjoyed it. Seen way better 3D that didn’t cause eye strain.

Best way to watch this is in 3D, but I presume the same old tired Blu-ray with that version will be packaged with the 4K. I'd love to be proven wrong though!

I saw this when it came out-and the 3D-like the movie-was terrible!

I think 3-D is one of the most subjective topics imaginable. Even more so than comedy. Everybody seems to have a different perspective on what is “good”. Plenty of people, myself included, think Tron Legacy looks flat as a pancake. But there are a lot of folks who think it’s the greatest 3D they’ve ever seen. Having said that, I agree that Jaws 3-D has good, strong 3D. It’s not perfect, but nobody I’ve ever shown it to on my projector has walked away disappointed.

The 3D in this is gimmicky as hell but that's part of the charm I guess. It also has some of the most extreme 3D pop-out effects I've ever seen. A lot is lost watching it in 2D but I'm curious to see how much it can be cleaned up for 4K.

A film like this is built around a 3D as a gimmick and you really have to love 4K as to be willing to watch this in a way as it wasnt intended.

Like watching that Comin At Ya western where it’s loaded with excuses for things to pop out of the screen…flat.

Much rather have a remastered 3D disc.

guess we’re gonna find out how many people just have to have all the films in series on 4K out of compulsion and not based on the quality of the movie lol.

might be the worst jaws movies. like not even close to the worst shark movie i’ve ever seen.

i mean, that’s the business. the first movie was the most successful movie ever when it came out. the second was the first big very successful sequel. of course they were going to make a third. if it wasn’t called jaws, do you think the third one would be better received?

This and its sequel are two bad, schlocky movies that I will upgrade every single time a new, improved release comes out.

You jest, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if they actually did indulge in some AI shenanigans.

They used the original artwork for Jaws 2, so I expect the same for 3 and 4.

As far as special features, they've always done the bare minimum on every past format so I expect the same here. It's a shame, because it would be genuinely interesting to have something, anything, on 3 and Revenge. Any surviving making-of material, interviews, deleted scenes, etc. Some new retrospective documentary about "how did it turn out like this?", with those who are still alive and willing giving their input.

I'm going to need a LOT of convincing. If they can do something, anything to make the 2D version watchable, add boatloads of bonus features; otherwise I'm fine with the current 3D Blu.

if you’ve ever read the jaws 3 people 0 script, we really dodged a bullet and comparatively, this is amazing.

who would they talk to? joe alves is almost 90. maybe, the cast doesn’t want to talk about this movie because so many people have acted like it’s beyond terrible for so many years.

jaws is a steak, jaws 2 is a pretty good burger. jaws 3 is taco bell. it’s not bad in a pinch. but it will never be better than a steak or a good burger.

I know of it, but I've never read it.

Well, I mean any cast and crew members from across 3 and Revenge who are still alive and willing to talk.

If none would be, then some knowledgeable fans and film historians would be good enough.

Not a bad way to put it. How would you describe Revenge?

Didn't see this one coming. It's pretty crazy how anything is on the table now with UHD which is great to see.

The only way I will ever watch this one is in 3D (as a bad movie novelty), so I have no reason to pick up the 4K. However, glad to see another 4K catalog title release for those who want it.

I much prefer this to Jaws 2. Everything is subjective.
