Thanks everyone for the responses. Most of what you guessed was right.

Wired Network, the switch is NOT a Linksys, only the Router. I'll doublecheck the switch brand tonight. I have tried removing the switch from the equation, only last night, and it dint help. I'll leave it unplugged a little while longer just to be sure.

The Router does indeed have a wireless component, it was switched off for a while, and I only turned it on the other day when my new PSP-2000 arrived. The error occured both when the component was switched off and now that it is on.

I dont use wireless for the consoles simply because I have never been a big wireless fan. I have an older 360, and I dont think it even has a wireless adapter, so I figured since the cable was being run across the floor anyway to go to that, why bother with the wireless for the PS3. Since the cable was already there...

But I see what you mean with testing it anyway just in case its something wrong with the physical port.

I'll turn on the wireless tonight and let you all know what happens.
