As OP for the Target & Walmart threads here, I continually find it frustrating (especially Target) to not see movie deals...
At least Walmart still carries (some) new releases, and bins (even just DVD). Just an old member ranting. ![]() |

If this is for their October Circle Week or whatever like last year, they sent out 15% coupons that stacked with the deal (instead of B2G1 last year, it was 20% off books and movies during the first week of October).
That said, they didn't start sending out those 15% until around Tuesday of that week. Waiting runs the risk of sell-outs or pre-orders becoming ineligible, but just something to keep in mind. No promises. |

Target and walmart have been countering amazon's prime day's for several years. A week or so after amazon makes their announcement, walmart and target makes theirs. Amazon seems to be trying to steal their black friday thunder by having a pre-holiday promo. As always, the real question remains whether or not every deal is their legit best, or if they're just trying to get people to jump early at slightly higher prices than what they'll be offered at in late Nov. For media, target's deal will be as legit as their B2G1 promos ever are. Though, select titles could still see even lower door-buster-level pricing later on. Though, I fear UHDs won't be as plentiful now that BB won't be participating, and studios seem intent on milking 4K as a premium option. If last prime day is any indication, the best media deals from walmart may be from gruv and pleaserewind, which could be even better through gruv's own site or their ebay stores, where they also have multi-buy coupons, should the pricing be the same.

I am in my local Target right now and they have done their media reset since last weekend; and I am sad to say there are no movies at all in the store. Their usual book reset for the holidays and has taken everything out. The music section has expanded into the 8 feet it shared with movies and the last endcap and 4 sided fixture are all books. I feel that if there is going to be movies during the holidays they will be on shippers. A sad day.

This is the kind of offer I'd rather have, instead of the spend X amount 4 times to get XX amount. Between the wife and I, we'd spend enough to get that $400. Target's site hasn't been carrying some of the BD's I want, so I usually end up just getting iTunes/Hulu/Netflix gift cards and the odd grocery purchase.

Got excited for a moment, got a $15 off $100 that expires Oct 5 plus a 5% that expires Oct 20, then I realized BOGO doesn't start until Oct 6. Hopefully they will give me something better.

In my local store the ONLY disc based media (which was not the small handful of K-pop titles) was the cardboard promo display for Despicable Me 4 that was sitting in the main aisle outside of the book section, which also had a couple of other animated titles that they backfilled it with. |

I got the $10 off $70 or more. The last time I got this offer it was $10 off $60. The offer also expires the day before the b2g1 sale of course

Well, one of my Targets has gotten rid of ALL movies now. They didn't even keep the small section or the endcap. I assume all the other Targets will follow. I really don't understand why all movies have to be eliminated. First Best Buy, now Target. I guess stupidity reigns supreme in our post-covid world.
