So are we not going to get a replacement for Sony's 2017 flagship UBP-X1000ES that would add Dolby Vision HDR? The 2019 UBP-X800M2 is getting a replacement player with the only difference being a faster chip that supports Dolby Vision HDR when compared to the 2017 Sony UBP-X800.

The 1000es was released months after the X800. I suspect Sony will update the X1000es with DV as well and release it during the summer just as it did with the original X1000es almost 2 years ago.

It will probably be called the X1000M2ES. I see what they are doing by just adding M2 to the DV support upgraded models. Shame the x800 and x1000es did not offer DV support, still great disc players though. I like this move by Sony because the build quality for those models was pretty good so why change it. The bad is anyone that purchased the x800 and x1000es is going to feel seriously gypped.

No front display, not for me. Will stick with Oppo and Panasonic.

Blame Sony for being cry babies that the market didn't bow to their heel on HDR, and were forced to come begging to Dolby.

Here is the thread for the new 2019 Sony flagship Blu-ray player with the only difference being a faster processor for Dolby Vision HDR support.

Does anyone know anything about the IR Remote jack on the X1000? The manual does not have anything on the use of this feature. It does not work with a mono plug and signals like my other devices with a IR input.

Anyone use the rack mount ears for this machine? They are some dumb non-standard size that uses not 1U and not 2U either. It's 1.5U. Totally insane. So you have to use a 2U space and then there is a gap there and you can't buy a blank panel that is .5U to fill it in to look nice.
