Yeah I'm quite disappointed that the disks that worked the first time are now problematic. I'm on disk 2 of season 2 and found 3 more I've had to switch out already!

Same same. I've had it since the day it was released and have never touched it. Inspected the discs, yes, but no actual watching. I need a new obsession after finishing Friends, Babylon 5 and Seinfeld on their respective latest releases.

I'm pretty sure there's no specific problem with the discs in this set. It's just that it featured an unprecedented 23 BD-100 discs. If any disc is going to give a player a problem, it's these, and 23 in one product, well if you ever have trouble with triple-layer discs, this set is likely to be problematic. I had no problems on the UB820 with any of the discs.

My Sony X800 has sooo many problems with sooo many triple-layer discs. I replaced some movies like Wonder Woman three times and it didn't matter. Finally got a new player and boom, all my problems went away.

I had no problems with my Scandinavian version. Also, the discs was also not stacked.

I tried to stick it out with the Sony, too - but between that and the DV switching you manually have to consonantly do, I just gave up and got the good Panasonic one when it went on sale for like $300. Haven't had a single issue with anything since.

All my problems are with the pany820, didn't even attempt these with the sony.

Like others have said all the disks are in excellent shape, no weirdness at all. And so far 4 of them worked great on the first try when I first got the set and now I've had to swap them out. The only 3 disks this has ever happened to was Cocaine Bear, Poltergeist, and Nightmare Before Christmas. All three played perfectly fine the first time we watched them, not even a small blip of pixelation, the second time all three froze up and pixelated. We replaced (through the retailer) Cocaine Bear and the second disk did the same, it plays perfectly fine in the sony and NOT in the Pany. Poltergeist plays perfectly fine, we've watched it twice since they replaced it for us. Disney told me they don't do disk replacements anymore, so now I just watch my old BD, the 4k won't play in any player at all. But this set beats them all with how bad so many of the disks have been. Out of the original set I needed to replace 4 disks and thankfully they sent me a whole new set because I've now since had to replace 4 more so far and I'm only on season 2. I'm not even sure these will last, so I'm keeping the BD as well.

Agreed. I mean, the Blu-rays are great - but this is honestly my reference set when anyone asks me what good 4K looks like. It's just astounding.

Does anyone have the French set?

Wanna check that there’s not hardcoded subs, or only French subs for Dothraki etc. also no stacked discs.

I always rip my movies, but it's a great check to see which discs may be problematic in my players. I can't remember which disc it was, but one of the season 6 discs gave me no shortage of read problems.

I had two different 4K sets (long story) and didn't have any problems that couldn't have been fixed with a dust free cloth.

Does the UK set have the "resume feature?" Thinking of importing it since it doesn't have stacked discs and didn't use the dreaded Mexico plant.

A deal breaker for me though if you can't resume where you left off.

Damn. This is down to $100 on Amazon during the prime deals. Still fearing a damaged set, case, discs, and the double stack. The UK set costs a double stack of cash, though.

So I looked into it, and apparently there is no “resume” feature on these discs. That’s a pain! Gotta give the nod to streaming there for convenience!

If I happen to buy the set, I’ll go for the UK one since it doesn’t have stacked discs and surely didn’t use the Mexico plant!
