Kershaw throws 6 innings, 2 ER (a quality start), and he gets the loss. This is truly the low point of the season. Maybe they should ship in some water from Toronto to turn thing around…

I swear every time some announcer rattles on about how how well they're doing, they go into a funk. Maybe 6 or 7 games ago, one of the announcers (I think it was Karros), was talking about how despite the injuries - especially with the starting pitching - is a team that can battle through and get wins, and praising how they climbed back up to the best record in the MLB, blah blah blah.

I know it's just coincidence, but damn that's the crap I notice and latch on to.

Go Tigers. They’ve definitely earned their 1st place through tenacity and dedication to playing great baseball.

And on the flip side, in 2nd place, the Dodgers hit a new low today.
Glasnow has a stunning return, but the offence is still on vacation.
And then, with a 2-1 lead, going into they the 9th, blown save, they choke, and then lose in 10. 2 series sweeps; 6 losses in a row.

One takeaway that I can use to make me feel better about losing 3 straight to the Assclowns, is after getting swept back-to-back I can now make excuses that it wasn't that the Asssclowns were that good, but that the Dodgers are sucking more right now.

And also the fact that Giants only gained 3 games in this stretch (or maybe it was 4, but I think they were down 8 games before the losing streak). And speaking of the Giants, I hope the Dodgers break out of this funk tonight.

Edit: Ah he!!, the sheer disappointment when you realize it's actually Thursday and not Friday. Sigh...
So no game tonight.

On the plus side today is Friday and tonight there are games. On the downside local broadcasters sold off rights to tonight's Tiger game and its on AppleTV for some stupid reason. Very upset I wont see tonights game and Skubal is pitching

Yeah before I realized it was Thursday, I checked if ESPN or AppleTV had the broadcasts since SportsNet didn't have anything going lol.

But even if you watched it on AppleTV it's a toss up if it's better to just skip the game, being that their broadcasts/announcers suck. ESPN is even worse. And there's no fun in muting or turning down the volume and missing the crack of the bats, crowd noise, plate umpire calls, etc.

I used to love muting the TV and having the radio on in the background when Ernie was broadcasting. Summer day food and drink Ernie in the background. Sadly the last of the true MLB announcers died with Bob Uecker.

The old guard could really call a game and make you feel like you were there in the stands, could smell the roasted almonds, could feel the energy in the stadium.

Absolutely! I miss Vin! I've at least warmed up to Joe Davis and Hershiser, they're doing a great job. But still, and not to complain, it isn't quite the same.

Vin, Harry, Ernie, Bob those guys were the best. Still remember the WS Vin and Ernie called together just wow was that something.

Gotcha. Still, at least we have youtube to relive some of the memorable moments/calls. Gibson's historic pinch hit and Vin calling it in '88 still gives me goose bumps. And speaking of Gibson and Vin, similar thing 4 years prior when Gibson was with Detroit in the '84 WS when Vin thought they'd walk him but didn't, and then he cracked one out vs Goose. Legend.

Dustin May (SP), after a great start, loses command of his pitches, and the Dodgers lose their seventh game in a row on Friday night at Oracle Park, falling 8-7 to the Giants. It marks their longest losing streak since September 2017, when they dropped 11 straight games. Through the first six games of the losing streak, the Dodgers were slumping badly at the plate, at least the bats woke up, including Ohtani getting a splash hit into McCovey cove.

Aaron Judge being the fastest ever to 350 Home runs by 192 games compared to the previous fastest (Mark McGwire) has to be one of the most insane stats I've seen in some time.

Aaron Judge: 1,088 games

Mark McGwire: 1,280 games

Juan Gonzalez: 1,298 games

Alex Rodriguez: 1,301 games

Harmon Killebrew: 1,319 games

Albert Pujols: 1,320 games

I was just thinking that myself, this guy will be in the 500 club within the next 3 seasons, crazy impressive...

Also Red Sox seem to have become the hottest team in Baseball after punting their best hitter and highest paid player. Hopefully now minus Dever's insane contract that is off the books, good luck with that one San Fran currently batting .234 since the move with 2 extra base hits! I hope to see some additions to this team now that it is clear they have the foundation to at least compete for a playoff spot if not more.
