I hated where they went with the story and the only episode that had quality was episode 2. I don't have any respect for people who think otherwise. I'm happy that Hwang Dong apparently won't be involved with Squid game USA or any future spin-off

It didn’t quite live up to the hype.

Not sure if it was ever going to tbh. The first season is absolutely incredible, and felt so fresh and original, and subsequent seasons were going to struggle to live up to the extremely high expectations.
Season 2/3 were very good, just not as good as the first. |

While I still enjoyed watching it, this third season was easily the worst one. More than anything else I found the VIP's and their English voice acting to be a complete travesty. Their dialogue is not only atrocious, but my god the acting is just beyond terrible, and takes me completely out of the show. I felt the same way in S1 as well, but they have way more screen time in this final part. I also found the stuff with the involvement of a baby to be really stupid. Not to mention the terrible CGI of it (which I acknowledge its use of couldn't be avoided). The games this time were also much more predictable, especially that final one where you could see where it was ging from a mile away. I'm also highly disappointed at how little emotion and tension was there at that climax given how great a character they were throughout the show. The extended epilogue had a few good moments to wrap some loose ends up, but that ending with the
[Show spoiler] cameo was absolutely braindead stupid and unnecessary.

The VIPs in Squid Game should have just been rich, elite Koreans. |

The worst part about the rich people is that everything they say, and every scene they are in, does nothing to move the story forward. It's just a stagnant time sink that makes the show even worse, the acting is insufferable, and the audience learns nothing.

Aren’t the rich people dubbed in deliberately annoying and facetious English to drive home the point?
I thought it was a quite poignant moment at the end where they were completely unable to grasp the concept of caring for another person. It felt like one of the only moments in the third season where they really landed something new that hadn’t previously been explored on the social commentary side. |

Season two was excellent. The criticism is baffling.
