Announcing releases and not having them available for purchase until a day or two later isn't exactly a sensible solution.

[Show spoiler] specifically.I say this because the phrasing of MifuneFan’s message at the time implies that a studio that was licensing titles to shout! recently was upset that their titles were leaked. So I got curious, and I looked at the final slate of Shout factory titles that MiFuneFan leaked and noticed that a good chunk of them were either licensed by [Show spoiler] so if anyone was curious as to who might’ve been responsible, it was probably one of those companies.

The brand new to BD/4K title is Mike Nichol's Catch-22 (1970). Quote:

And finally, the previously leaked title that's now official is The Place Beyond the Pines: Quote:

Unfortunately, no. The BD will be remain tied to this 4K release only. If you don't mind waiting a bit, I'm sure the release will eventually come down closer to Blu-ray prices (~$20). Another option would be to resell the 4K disc, which I'm sure there's a market for, or conversely there may be some 4K collectors that have no use for the Blu-ray and offload it.

Since they seem to be doing all of Oliver Stone's films on UHD, I wonder if Shout will be able to get Nixon from Disney? That seems like a one-off filmmaker's request that could happen.

I think if anyone will be able to get NIXON or WALL STREET from Disney, it would be Criterion, not Shout.

I really hope for Shout & Oliver Stone to be able to release Heaven & Earth on 4K!
If Stome is able to crack Disney then I would hope he also gets Wall Street. I know a pipe dream. |

Maybe, but I think the deal, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, with Shout and Stone is that someone at Shout used to work for Stone and that is why they've got a relationship. And that relationship is why I think Stone could go to Disney and say I want these with Shout (similar to how Twilight Time got Heaven and Earth from WB despite WB not licensing out titles at that time.)
