Hopefully, they're able to work something out.
They're owned by Sanctuary I believe. They were the ones who put out the UK DVDs of II and III (from which the Alan Jones commentaries originated). If I remember correctly, III was in the wrong ratio too. 1.78 or something. But yeah, the quality on those releases was abysmal.

If by “always,” you mean “rarely,” then yes.

Yes but the likelihood of it not happening with their Halloween acquisitions is practically nil.

Yeah, Halloween II looks like it's playing on a bad CRT television and Halloween III is censored needlessly, as it has always been a BBFC 15 (but various releases over the years have mistakenly put 18 on it).

However, pretty much all DVD collections in the UK do include II and III with the Anchor Bay releases of the original, 4 and 5.

Lionsgate seem to have the rights for 4 and 5 now in the UK, as per the latest DVD releases which - while they are barebones - are really good transfers for DVD. They don't have the odd reverb-y audio of the Anchor Bay transfers, either.

Wouldn’t it stand to reason that Arrow have those rights now?

Any chance for Cliff to drop in to give us a hint of whether the Halloween films will be coming from Arrow?

Virtually zero chance he’ll do that, sadly. He very well might pop in after it’s announced to give details on something like the soundtrack. But everyone has to be polite and serious, because he doesn’t like jokes or snark and recently said he’ll stop visiting the forum if people keep twisting his words into parody posts, etc.

You might be confusing Arrow Cliff with Lionsgate Cliff, two different people.

I know what you mean about Lionsgate Cliff, but no, I’m remembering a recent exchange with Arrow Cliff, AKA cmac.
