If you were in the US yeah. Shipping to Ireland might make it not worth it.

So that is actually similar to here..

$108 is €73 and I can find one online (pixmania.ie) for €69 (shipping is €13)

So I guess it's not much better looking State side for something like this.

Perhaps some European guys can suggest a website?? Can anyone beat €69?? (before shipping)

Cool thanks.. I will check out that site in more detail when I get home.

Are there many there that are USB powered? I guess it is that that makes them more expensive that the power supply adapter ones? But so much better!

hi garlad! i see you need more space for pr0n? too bad you don't live here...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822149090

89.99 free shipping no taxes + usb powered like you asked

gl finding something similar over there and gl to villa.

edit: it may be cheaper for you to get a 2.5 external enclosure for like ~10-15 maybe and then buy a 500gb 2.5 for ~60 and make your own usb powered HDD.

Cheers for the link, but that comes to €91.. Maybe pixmania.ie is actually the way to go!

I also don’t think amazon.co.uk deliver electronics to Ireland.. But, I was able to get further than normal on this occasion at the checkout so perhaps that rule doesn’t apply anymore?

Just out of curiosity, are you willing to "sacrifice" two USB ports to power your new external drive? Many (but not all) of these drives are set up to run off of two USB ports. There are some that can use FireWire, which might be a good option if your USB port options are slim. Just some things to think about...

I've never seen a drive like the one I want that needs two usb ports to power it.. Of my many friends who have them they all just use the one usb port, so not worried about that! Cheers for the heads up though!

Very good then. I just wanted to make sure you get what you want! LaCie makes some pretty solid drives, but I think the price point is a little higher than what you're looking to spend.
