You can still do all of that using your bank's online payment options. I'd never use the automatic debit method with each separate service either, but using the bank's payment service for ALL of my bills is VERY convenient. When I get a bill in the mail, I just look at it and file it away. It actually helps with payment planning. I use Quicken, and I have show my pay checks coming in and download my bills going out for 30 days in advance. I can see if I need to move this bill to that pay check long before it ever comes due.
