I checked it out, but I guess I'm going with the Onkyo, we don't get Pioneer stuff here where I live, except for Car sound systems + Pro Logic IIz is important for me since it will be supported by many games in the future *hopefully*

but the part that I'm not getting is, how is this receiver ( 707 ) considered a 7.1 (7.2) when it has like 11 speakers ?

Center, Front, wide front, top front, surround, and read surround back speakers?

isn't this suppose to be like 11.1 (11.2)?

what am I missing here?

You can only have wide front or top front running. Not both. It can go up to 9.2 if you like.

so I can like use:
A center speaker
Front speakers
Surround speakers
Surround back speakers
A subwoofer
(the known 7.1)
+
either Front high speakers(PL IIz) or the Wide Front speakers?

that wouldn't be a problem I guess, since wide front isn't "that" important for Dolby or DTS signals,, right?

That's correct. I guess it would depend upon the layout of your room as to whether you would benefit more from the wide or the high.

The idea of having the sound comming from all directions is great. The problem is that most if not 99 percent of all movies are only 5.1. I am not sure what is going to be comming out of the other four speakers. It cannot be true surround if the movie isn't sending a true signal to the speakers. You will most likely get a noise similar to your surround speakers comming from the other four.

Thanks everyone,

well, I went and got the receiver earlier, installed it, I didn't know that I'd feel much different than my old one haha, i'm still using the same old speakers till i get new ones.

my only problem now is the heat, what cabinet cooler should I get for it?

i was thinking of getting this: (Here)
