*This is a response to sfmarine and his question about what I do here at the shore.
Well in every day life I of course have to work , mostly in the Philadelphia area, Elevator industry. To keep busy with free time it is excellent striper fishing right now then just the everyday things that you do when not on vacation and such.It was always somewhat more difficult when I was younger, man we are so bored, but as you get older and have your own home there is always plenty to do.I also have a small wood shop that lets me build some pretty cool stuff, just finished some killer subs, infinity kappa perfects. ![]() Last edited by sawzalot; 10-23-2009 at 12:20 AM. |

Even that first out was hit pretty hard. If AJ doesn't get things together quickly, it can be an ugly night (or since it's already kind of ugly, then uglier). |

I forgot, how much did they pay for last year's championship? The year before that? And before that? And the five years before that? Oh, yeah. That's right. You can't buy championships. The Yankees are always going to make a lot of money, and we can't change that. It's a byproduct of being a historically successful franchise, and being located in the biggest city in the country. But I'd rather have Steinbrenner reinvest the money he makes from the team into the team, than to be like some of the other owners who invest nothing into their team, and instead blow it all on their yachts and other crap they enjoy doing with their time (Pirates, Marlins, Nationals, etc). And I know I'm sounding like a broken record, but name a team that developed more players than the Yankees? I'll wait. <elevator music plays while toefer is waiting> Give up? There's only one, the Diamondbacks. The Yankees developed more of their current players than 28 of the other 29 teams in baseball (48% of the '09 roster). |

Another bad call by the umps.
I think I posted something a few months ago when there were some bad plays in a Yankees game (both for and against the Yankees). My idea -- at the time, and still today -- is that umpires get a little caught up in the excitement of the game. So on the close bang-bang plays, they seem far more likely to reward a good play. Like the one that just happened, when the replay clearly showed Damon to be safe. But since the 1b'man made a nice stop, and the pitcher hustled over, what the hell, give them an A for effort, and award them the out. Based on the flashiness of some of the strike out call/kung fu chops that umpires have, it seems like they really do get a kick out of making themselves part of the game. These umps are getting ridiculous....
At least it beats the traffic before you get close to the Walt Whitman. 1:35 is nice...but that's because everyone is sleeping, including me. |

We're supposed to believe you're a 22-year season ticket holder to the Eagles? Did your season tickets start a few years before conception?
Although Eagles fans booed Santa Claus, so I guess they're not the classiest people to begin with. ![]() |
