Default Weather Channel adding movies!! Huh??

Well, this is the last thing I thought I'd see on TWC, but they've decided to start running feature films on Friday nights. This week is "The Perfect Storm". Hmm, how many weather-related movies are there anyway? There may be a lot of repeats...Twister and The Perfect Storm over and over and over...

How long do you think it will remain on weather theme movies, I've seen speciality channel branch out quickly in the last few years. Lonestar was all about western when it started here in Canada, very soon you could find anything on there except westerns

I'm surprised they hadn't done it already. Everyone knows by now to flip it over on the 8's and get what you need in 30 seconds. I would think they have to do something to keep people tuned in longer.

Screw the 8's, I'm busy on the 8's.

I check the laptop, or the iPhone when I want the weather.

If they are going to show movies I can see "The Day After Tomorrow" getting heavy rotation on that channel.

I don't think Weather Channel is going the path of MTV or Cartoon Network since movies like Perfect Storm pretain to weather. It's not like Cartoon Network showing live action shows and movies with cutting back on the cartoons(and the ones they do have now that are cartoons majorly suck and no Toonami, Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, and just anything that helped out Cartoon Network to be awesome in the past). MTV with either VH1-type shows or just having people doing dumb stuff but no music videos and not even movies pertaining to music.

I say these movies on The Weather Channel are either A. To get them more ratings or to pass the time.

I give it 2 years tops before it's nothing but reality shows with the weather only being reported on between the hours of 2 and 7 am.

Yup, it looks very cool in HD. They have Al Roker on in the morning which I watch before work (and, yes, some people think I'm a bit loose ) (Al Roker has very good taste in music for the forecasts by the way, I was surprised)

For the most part, The Weather Channel is far better than Accuweather.

Accuweather should change their name to Trash Weather as Accuweather, for the most part, is 100% Grade A trash!

I say death to Trash Weather-err-Accuweather!
