BD Player: Sharp Acquous BDHP50
Gaming: Xbox 360
Receiver: Aiwa AV-DV75

Thanks, they were my fourth major speaker upgrade and I still haven't heard anything that I like considerably better. However, the elastic margin between the woofers and speaker face has deteriorated and needs to be replaced.

I see in your HT setup you have an Adcom GFA 545. I have been using an Adcom GFA 555 (and of course, the complimentary GFP 555 preamp) since 1988 to power the Kappa's. Wonderful amp - only have had to replace a fuse once as a result of a LF transient from a Joe Satriani disc!

I agree GB.

The Adcom is a nice solid amp, I have no issues with it and next to my Outlaw mono blocks it has been stellar.

One of my former coworkers has the IRS Betas and powers them with four Adcom 565 (300 Watt) mono blocks in a theatre room that was custom-designed into his house blueprints. Overall the best sound I have heard, certainly the "fastest" bass (probably a consequence of feedback regulated by the accelerometers on the woofers), although for some unknown reason the Kappa's seem to have a superior high end.

The Beta's are sweet speakers too, Infinity has been brought back the Beta's and the Kappa's. Maybe trying to recapture that magic of old, thing is if you want that BIG sound you need BIG speakers.

StereoMike,

is there a story behind the Paula Creamer fetish? I own a golf shop and have something you might appreciate.
