Since Fox and ABC are 720p over the air it would be nice to get their TV shows in 1080p.

Fox especially since even with 720p they have hardly any bitrate and a lot of artifacting.

I am sure these things will come with time... Lost would be cool though in the near term

Me too. But the question is, will they redo the SFX, or at least fix that screwed field uprezing on them proper?

$200? Even if that is a rumor, I say screw that. No show is worth that price.

Gads - I didn't notice that before. $200 is in the retarded range.

It would have to be S1 and S2 for that - maybe even S3 so far as well !

You know, I wonder...

Like just about everybody else and their cousin, I like LOST. Intriguing show - provided that it'll eventually get somewhere. I read this article at Zap2It just yesterday, and while it pissed me off to learn of a 3 month hiatus for the current season (*HULK SMASH!!* <== that would be me as of yesterday), I find this synchronism in announcements interesting, nonetheless. Someone pointed out to me that the previous two seasons have been released on DVD just prior to the start of the next season on television. Maybe Buena Vista is pulling a similar stunt with the latter half of season 3 in early 2007? To drum up promotion for the new Blu-ray release? It's hard to see lots of advertising dollars going into a Blu-ray exclusive release, but it's still a possibility! ^_^

$199 is way out of line with reality. HBO Video charges the most for their SD DVD sets, and they are only charging a $30 premium for The Sopranos on HD DVD. If Lost retails for $59.99 or $69.99, then the BD price should be $89.99 or $99.99.

IMO... Very soon, there should be no premium charged for these discs, if they expect the masses to adopt HD optical discs. I understand they have to recoup their development costs and R&D and such, but they should be working hard to get disc prices low as possible.

But charging $200 for a one season box set it ridiculous. Prices like these are going to push the masses even further away from HD optical discs.

Overpriced for sure, but only about $90 more than what The X-Files seasons were costing when they rolled out on DVD.

He has a point, but at that price it would cost $600 for all three seasons!
