Ditto. It's not a big deal one way or the other.

Though, at least with the Elite cases (which has all of the discs stored on the "page" inserts), they can't make the same stupid mistake that they did with my Monsters Inc set in the Vortex case.

They put the 2 security tags (the flat, square, white one, which wasn't as big of a deal.... and the thick, raised, rectangular, black tag, which was more alarming) IN the disc hub area that held one of the discs under where the paperwork/flyers are held in the case. Talk about a scratched disc waiting to happen. Luckily it was the Digital Copy disc there, which I personally don't care much about. But it's still stupid.

Thank goodness they didn't put either of the BD discs there, or I would have had a fit! Special scratch-resistant coating or not, it's still a pointless risk to take.

Luckily I was able to remove that rectangular, raised tag without leaving any residue behind.

I ordered Up & MI from amazon. The cases for both arrived broken and cracked and the UPS box looks like someone had very violent relations with it, it was smashed up and almost had the items falling out the side. I contacted customer service telling them that it was going to cost me like $10 to get replacement cases. They gave me a partial refund for $10, which is fine by me as they are going as gifts to my sister who throws the cases anyway and puts all discs in a big binder.

Has anyone else had this with broken cases from amazon or do they usually just have you return it for a replacement?

When it happens, if I go back a few seconds and relpay it the sound does not drop out and the movie plays fine the rest of the way. I have not had any issues with any other BD that I have played in my Samsung 1600 blu-ray player.

No trouble with the actual plastic cases, but I have on occasion received movies with damaged slip cases; most recently with the Charlie Brown Christmas BD.

Don't know if anybody's seen this yet, or whether it's believable or not, but heres a list of upcoming Disney releases on Blu-Ray and some DVD.

The thing that intrigues me is that Toy Story and Toy Story 2 is said to be coming out in March.

Blind buy for me. Just got done with it. Decent movie. Not Wall-E or Monsters Inc great, but good. Dug was that whole movie.

Blind bought this last night and watched it.

WOW!!
Easy 5/5 stars. Like I've read, a real "smart" animation: has themes for kids and adults, so both kids and adults can enjoy it!! what a concept!! Dug cracked me up! I must have rewound his opening scene about 10 times "Hi, I just met you and I love you, my mast..SQUIRREL!"

animations on blu ranking:
1. Corpse Bride
2. Coraline
3. Up
4. Nightmare before christmas

I thought it was definitely better than Monsters Inc, not sure about Wall-E, though. They're both pretty good, but I might give a slight edge to Up over Wall-E.

I agree..Wall-E was my fav, untill I saw UP. Up had that emotional, adventure feel that me and my son enjoy'd at the cineima and drive thru.

Wall-E was more obsessive adventure looking for Eeee-Va! But considering that Wall-E didn't have much dialoge untill the last 15min? It was pretty damm good!

Finally got my copy.
And WOW! The video is just jaw dropping good. Who needs 3D? Everything just pops up! And it even comes with DVD! Perhaps my best BD purchase so far!

Default Great movie.

I bought the Blu-Ray of UP on Tuesday.

I just finished watching UP on Blu-Ray and it was excellent.

I was comparing the quality of the Blu-Ray to the DVD the set came with and I noticed a small error with the DVD it came with. The trailers for the new movies coming from Disney feature all the writing in French? Has anybody else noticed this? Could it be a small pressing error on my DVD or on all of the copies?

I would really appreciate it if somebody took their checked their DVD bundled with the Blu-Ray of UP has this small error.

Then they also gave me an additional $10 off because I bought Snow White through them. And I recently traded in some DVDs and they gave me an extra $10 coupon to use towards any Blu-Ray purchase. So my final total from Amazon for both films will be $26.48. Even when you add the $7.50 Steelbook ($33.98), I doubt any store will have a deal where you can pick up both for less than $40.

The retailers down south have go it right, they know how to market product and sell. Here Canadians are get ripped across the board on Blu releases and sellers counter any rebates that come up. Recently, Up's release was selling at $30 bucks at BB and Futureshop while being $20 in the US. When the Disney $10 rebate came out both BB and Future raised their prices to $35 to counter the discount. Just incredibly dumb and sickening. Amazon Canada just plain sucks for Blu and their prices are nuts....Up "discounted" to $37 from $52 is laughable!!!!. I wonder if the folks at Disney are aware of what retailers here like BB, Future and Amazon are doing. Really killing the market for Blu. If anyone knows of fair prices for Up or other blu releases please notify the board. I think many are in the same boat as me and are being turned off Blu by ridiculous pricing.

There aren't any. I still paid almost $30 even with the $10 off coupon.

I got mine at Blockbuster with the $10 coupon and it came to just over $25 taxes in. It was the most I ever spent on a blu-ray, but well worth it! And now that I see the complaints around here, I see I didn't make out too bad...

+1

It was good, but I won't be buying it until I find it real cheap. I love Pixar and Up is good. But it is my least favorite of all Pixar films. Too sentimental for me. It won't be watched as much as the others.

May buy it for my wife, she got teary. And I love being able to buy Blu-rays and write them off by saying they are her presents. I hope she likes the copy of Fight Club I ordered for her for X-mas more than the copy of American History X that I got her for our anniversary.
