I translate: the restoration is disappointing.. lack of contrast,the blacks are too blacks, grainy like "Battlestar Galactica", and some shots that look like the worst Dvd transfer.

Audio: well..considering the age of the film.


This kind of review is not rare in France.French professional reviewers and consumers lack knowledge, and they still don't know what film grain is. Movies such as "Gladiator" is considered to be one of the best tranfers

That is an absolutely blatant and quite despicable statement to have made. To group the entire professional reviewers and populace of France in this light based on one review you comment on is ....well, let me just say...it leaves me rather speechless.

I actually can't believe someone would actually write this kind of slur.
