But once again, I believe they have a pretty tall center channel
i guess this one would work for the martin logan towers?

It will work just fine, unless you want an excuse to upgrade. I would be more than willing to give you an excuse to do so.

hahah, just got my pioneer elite, havent even hooked it up yet. still using my onkyo 606. but my pioneer says it is 8ohm, see below.

Amplifier Design Discrete (A.D. Energy)
Surround Power 110W x 7 (20Hz - 20kHz, .09% THD @ 8 ohms, All Channels Driven)
Stereo Power 110W x 2 (20Hz - 20kHz, .09% THD @ 8 ohms)

the martin logans say 4 ohms????

Your elite can handle 4 ohm loads, and it will just increase the power output. I really wouldnt worry about that.

ok so the receiver will be using more power to work the speakers? i heard the logans at BB last week with some music and they were fantastic. i know the def tec towers have 300 watt subs built in

wonder which set is worth the buy, see both below

pair of these http://www.definitivetech.com/Produc...oductid=BP7006

with this center http://www.definitivetech.com/Produc...oCenter%201000

Not a good idea as you can run the risk of damaging the speakers or receiver.

Before you rule them out check to see if you can change the impedance on the receiver, and see if the ML can handle an 8 ohm load. Both may be possible, call pioneer to see if its adjustable, my old denon was adjustable, there was a special code I had to punch in to get to that setting menu, but I could switch between 4, 6, and 8 ohms.

The speakers are 4 ohm and receiver 8 ohm...would not work ok. Need an amplifier that can do 4 ohm.

ok thanks, was thinking that and thats why i asked. my receiver does say 8 ohms and the speakers are 4 ohms. not a wiz at this and thats why i ask. so the logans would require an amp?

is it the lower the ohms the more powerful it is?

thanks, i will check them out but they are big money. $999 each tower . but i will check them out. thanks

i really like the Mythos 5 & 7 center channels. they are nice and slim in height and would work great with my setup, but i have to match them up with some l & r towers???

so i was thinking. if i replace my front 3 speakers and keep my cambridge SW 4 surround speakers and my 1000wt powered sub, this should be ok to go with 3 different front speakers without any issues?? or do i really have to have all the same exact speaker line that all match?

not sure as i have always had CSW speakers and they always all matched.

Im telling you it will work fine. It may not be ideal that they aren't impedance matched, but to be honest a lot of systems arent impedance matched and problems rarely arise. I can't promise you that it will never break, but it would be rare. If you really like the ML's, which I do, I would look into returning your unopened Elite receiver and find something that will go 4 ohms. Or buy an amp to attach to the Elite that will handle 4 ohms.
