What I mean by this is that there is lest chance that the movie will have the art look and feel we normaly associate with a great movie.

There is also who make these movies. Those with the great talents to make "great" movies would generaly not be seen in a New Moon movie or 2012 or Transformers. Be it from director down to actors and everyone else working on the movie. It's like in sports, you have the "Michael Jordans" and then you have those who have a bit of talents but will never be Michael Jordan. Sure we should expect the best out of every performances, that is normal but that being said expecting and reality are two different words.

Very nice, well-thought out post. I agree with you on all accounts. Then you have those films like Titanic and LOTR, which make a ton of money but also have high cinematic value.
