DLP looks horrible. Truely the budget tier of hdtv.

I will honestly and truly disagree with you there. I own a DLP and whether or not it is as nice as LCD, Plasma, or anything else is debatable. I personally dont think it looks as good but then again, I have a budget and it works absolutly perfect for me.
However, the context of your post did not compare it with anything. All you said was that the DLP looks bad. Compared to what MANY people own in their homes, a DLP could be the best thing since sliced bread. While I agree with you that it is not the best, it is by no means "horrible" |

According to AnandTech.com who was at CEDIA this year, the best projector sub US$100K is a three-chip DLP. It costs US$30K.
![]() After that, the best projector sub US$30K is the JVC's D-ILA. Sony's SXRD came in close. Of course, we're not here to discuss the merits of the technology in projection/projector systems. fuad |

Would you really rely on Anandtech for video quality reviews though?
There's also a big difference between front projection and rear projection. |

Nice troll Maxell. Enjoy your smaller screen with stuck pixels, burnt-in images and larger energy bills. |

The new line of Mits Diamond DLPs are incredible. x.v color, 120hz refresh rate, HDMI 1.3...it's a terrific set. I got the 65" for $2699 from a local shop. Of course my last TV was a 20" RCA CRT, so this was an absolutely incredible upgrade for me.

I have a Sony DLP 50" TV. The picture is amazing. I got it for $1800. It was cheap but I love the picture.
About the commercials. I hate the video game commercials where they show everything but the video game footage. |

Two commercials out now that annoy me around here... and they always play back to back. The first is Duracell, they say "Inside that flashlight is something fermilliar"... bah!
Then right after that, we get this thing where they talk about "nuculer" energer.. double bah! |

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I would put my DLP up against MANY plasmas on the market, as well as your LCD. Unless you like ghosting. Last edited by BStecke; 10-07-2007 at 04:33 AM. |

The commercial sucks.
Not as bad as the dork-fest commercials about designing games. You know, where the game character taps the glass and the two dorks are like WHOA. Yawn. |
