Play any DVD (Pan's Labyrinth) or BD (Punisher) on your PS3 that has a DTS-ES track. If the PS3 decodes the track and sends it out as PCM, it is in a 5.1, not 6.1 like the track truly has.

I think you're right! Looking on the side (or top if you have it standing up) of the PS3 it does not say DTS-ES...just DTS. Therefore, you have to go select bitstream to get the back center channel (fully 6.1). That will work.
