Half-Life 2 on ps3 anyone?

I loved this game on pc, has anyone had the chance to play this. I was hoping it was a standalone but it comes in the orange box, I found a used one for $19 on amazon, considering amazon wanted $95 for it new. I am just curious if this is going to be a big difference from playing it on a computer 5-6 years ago.

Also if you could rate it, how good the graphics, and sound are on the ps3?

I havent found a good game to play yet since beating Dead Space and Resistance 2, and also playing GTA 4. I like these kind of games. I have an unopened Uncharted 2, waiting to buy uncharted and play that first.

I didnt like Metal Gear Solid 4, Ghostbusters or Assassins creed that i bought on black friday. Anyone have some more reccommendations on what i like from above??

I've read there are lagging issues andd such, not a very good port unfortunately...

If you liked R2, I think you'd like Killzone 2. And I don't know anyone who wasn't immensely impressed with Infamous, which has that sandbox, open-world atmosphere. What kind of game is Dead Space? Is it a shooter?

Dead Space is a Horror Shooter in space, or sci fi horror

I own the orange box (for 360) and I must say it's 5 really great games for not even the price of one. I don't know if there are issues on the PS3 version, but it's one of the best purchases I have ever made (and I bought it back when it was still 60 dollars).

Ive read about these lag issues, but a reviewer on amazon said its not as bad as many think. He said some of the issues compare to Assassins Creed

I got Orange Box. I'd never played Half Life before. I liked it on the PS3. I never noticed any of the issues some had complained about.

Also, it's worth it for Portal alone. That game was fun on a stick.

At my walmart you can get the PS3 version new for 17 bucks

The Orange Box is a great bundle no matter what console you play it on. The only major difference between the Half-Life 2 games (Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and Episode 2) are a bit of lag in Episode 2 during the bigger action moments (i.e. Stryders destroying entire houses) and a bit longer load times than the 360 version. This should NOT disuade you from picking it up. The Orange Box for both PS3 and Xbox 360 are now retailing at 19.99 NEW anywhere you shop (Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Gamestop, etc.). You can get it used at Gamestop for around 17.99, plus I know they're doing their Buy 2 Get 1 Free used games and accessories sale this weekend, so you really have no excuses but to pick this one up.

The only difference between the 360 version of the rest of The Orange Box are the load times in Portal (again, a bit longer on the PS3) and Team Fortress 2 runs a little smoother on Xbox Live than on PSN.

Seriously, just go get this game. H-L 2 and its 2 sequels thus far make up my favorite game of all time. If you haven't played Episode 1 and Episode 2 yet, you will be floored by the gameplay and the story in both of these (especially Episode 2). I believe they have patched some of the lag problems, so hopefully you won't get the stutters that were first reported back when the game first came out.

Portal is also amazing (albeit short). It's an extension of the Half-Life universe, a mind bending puzzle game and just a really entertaining experience. Team Fortress 2 is also a blast if you're into class-based multiplayer.

I'd like to know where in the game there are lagging issues. I think it's a perfect port. I've played it all the way through in the past two months.

+1...i bought this for $20 for da x360 and play TF2 a lot (+1500hrs)...love half and portal...best collection of games under 1 disc...i heard the PS3 version was not a great port, but i cant confirm nor deny those claims...

I got this one on the ps3 version and played through all but the last episode. I haven't come across any lag in my copy yet.

I have no problems with my PS3 copy, so it's not as bad as everyone thinks it is. Plus, it's rating on Metacritic is 89 right now, so that's pretty good.

bought it today at gamestop and lag issues are not a problem, and loading times are fine. This is the game I remember, now they just need to release Counter-Strike on ps3, and then ill be back to my younger days
