I'll watch the deleted scenes, gag reels and the like on almost every disc. I've hardly ever watched the commentaries while rewatching a film, I just don't need to know why the sun needed to be at that particular angle to make the shot work.

rarely, but for the times i have they have been ok. only a couple have really been outstanding in the good sense. sometimes it is nice to see the actors out of character and some of the behind the scenes stuff is really nice. i almost always enjoy the special effects portions of these things when i watch them.
Now, on a slightly different but somewhat related subject, BD-Live has almost been completely worthless and incredibly problematic to the entire blu-ray experience. they should either revamp it or get rid of it. it causes more problems and distracts terribly sometimes you can't even watch the movie because of it so they need to do something with live! |

Ive watched all the extras on the Zodiac Disc. It is my favourite film of all time and the documentaries are fantastically produced and bring light to the story from those who were there. Talking about it makes me want to watch them

+1 but other studios put out top-notch suppilment/extras packages as well, most of the classic Disney blu's and classic Warner (Robin Hood 1938, GWTW, Casablanca, WOZ, etc.) Some newer Fox,Univeral, Paramount and Sony discs have great suppilmentals too.

I'm mainly interested in special effects supplements, but any type of feature will do, as long as its relatively interesting. I don't think I'd be able to sit down and watch every single Braveheart supplement spread throughout the 2 discs, but I certainly wouldn't mind watching the ones that sound interesting. I always check BD-Live after I've finished watching the extras, although I'd prefer it if they just put every extra that was going to be released into the package in the first place. PiP tracks are one of my favorite features on Blu and think they should be implemented more often into future releases. The 3 PiP tracks in the 300 UCE were phenomenal, making me wish I could watch every film in blue-screen back-to-back with the final version. To me, extras may not be as vital to a release as PQ and AQ, but they are pretty important to me.

I watch pretty much all the extras because I'm usually interested in how the film was made.
The more extras there are the better for me. To me they add a lot of value to my purchase. That being said some features are of course better than others and they differ in quality from film to film too. They also help you get to know the film-makers themselves a lot better. I honestly didn't pay too much attention to directors and so forth until I could see who they were. |

And I'm astounded by the fact that many people here (who would be called fans of the Blu-ray format) don't watch the extras. Yes, sometimes they're nothing more than promotional filler, but many times they're actually informative. Take the Blade Runner set, for instance. The amount of information on that is almost overwhelming, but it's worth to watch every documentary and listen to every audio commentary on it. And there are many more examples of that. I try to watch everything, but sometimes I don't have enough time to do that. If I'm really not that interested in the movie, or the bonus material I have seen of that title leaves me underwhelmed, I will not watch all of it. Otherwise, I will. And extremely good documentaries I can watch over and over again. The Empire of Dreams documentary on the Star Wars trilogy, the extras on the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, or the Magnolia Diaries can be watched more than one time, and still remain good. |

I watch most extras on most discs, although I'm trying to start to cut back, as I don't have time to watch everything I want to. It does help that I usually watch the extras in 1.5X speed. Pacing doesn't matter and you can still understand it usually; I just want to consume the information. |

I will probably end up watching the special features on all of my movies at some point, but like others have said, it really depends on the movie and how interested I am in seeing how it was made. That usually determines whether I watch the special features right away or not.
