If it sounds the same, you can put the grille back on and enjoy it. If you are concerned, use a piece of tape or a small vaccum cleaner to pull the cone (dust cap) out.

his right speaker cone has a "inverted nipple" now ..

that suck's...how did it manage to fall down that far to cause minor damage?..

i dropped one of my Tsi 200's and the edge was scratched and wood was showing...nothing a black marker can't fix.

big daddy was saying you could use a small vacuum cleaner to pull the cone out,i was thinking you put some air inside the back port and blow it out...lol...dont trust me on that thou..

rodney dangerfield says "Aye,i came on blu-ray forum and reading this thread, stop it........it's turning me on....."

At the first pic, look at the right speaker centre, and in the second pic, look at the center of the pic.

If it where me , I would try to pull the dust cap back out with the tape . All you need to do is be careful , It should not be hard to do .

As Big Daddy stated if it sounds fine enjoy it .

One of my friends knocked one of my Monitor 40's off of it's stand over the summer and it works great today. It landed on the top right corner and crushed the wood in a little (not too noticeable, but still pissed me off). To this day, it's performed great. I think speakers are made pretty well, and the only thing that would really damage it is if the driver was punctured or knocked loose somehow.

Hope yours sounds fine though, gently pulling it outward with a vacuum cleaner sounds like a good idea

Here is the absolute best way to pull out a pushed-in tweeter or cone. Get the cardboard tube leftover from an empty roll of toilet paper. Put one end over the damaged part and apply your mouth to the other end, creating a vacuum. Then proceed to suck the air out gently with your mouth, maintaining even pressure. A vacuum cleaner is too strong and might damage the speaker cone.

I am being dead serious, though I realize how ridiculous the procedure sounds.

Worked like a charm one time when I tried this. Tape works, too, but you have to be careful when using it so as not to make the pushed-in area worse.

Why do I have the feeling that members of the opposite sex may be more successful at this procedure than we would be?

Prior to replacing them, I've done the "Tape" method for three B&W tweeters with success.......

Since your tweeter is similar in construction/material it should work for you too if you're careful.

My cats tried the same thing. Luckily I was right there and caught my brand new RTi A3 before it made the trip to the floor. The cat almost had to find himself a new home.

Put a straw up to the dust cap, suck through it gently & pull back. May take a few tries to get a good seal, but is safer. A vacuum cleaner could be dangerous territory !!! Good luck !!!
